DEFINITION

An Exercise is a planned physical activity for training the body to remain healthy.

I love engaging in exercises from time to time because it guarantees healthy living for me. Among the second requirements for good health after Diet is Exercise before Rest, therefore everyone living must take part in exercising for the benefit of good health. You need a simple dressing to start. Wear a comfortable sports wear and your sneekers.

Most people thought that taking regular exercise will make them to loose weight and look skinny, so some have the notion that it is only meant for people who are obese or the ‘Big Size’ group. I always prove them wrong because I am not overweight hence I exercise often just to remain physically fit and healthy.

Twist your body

I have witnessed so many people who lack regular exercise with a lot of health challenges. Heart disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis and diabetes not to talk of Hypertension, has plagued a lot of people for not taking part in regular physical exercise.

Raise one leg up straight with your palms on the floor

FORMS OF EXERCISE

  • Early morning brisk walk for at least one hour

  • Jogging – many people prefer to jog some few distance or jog within their compound

  • Sweeping and raking the compound

  • Clearing grass with hoe or cutlass

  • Dancing to a tune of your favourite music to stimulate your body

  • Riding a Bycycle

  • Playing of Table Tennis, football, basket ball and boxing

  • Swimming

  • Hill climbing and using the stair case instead of taking the Elevator

  • Going to the Gym

BENEFITS OF EXERCISE

There are several benefits we can derive from taking part in exercise, here are a few of them:

  1. Regular exercise helps people to lose weight and lower the risk of some diseases like Obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and Rheumatism.

  2. Regular activity can improve your quality of life and has anti-aging benefits with less body pain at old age.

  3. Exercising can bring happiness because physically you see yourself sound in health.

  4. Early morning exercises makes your skin shine especially as your skin cells release some waste through sweat.

  5. Mental focus and solving some difficult brain tasks becomes easier when you exercise regularly, hence it can prevent Amnesia and Alzheimer’s disease.

  6. Exercise plays a vital role in building and maintaining strong muscles and bones.

  7. Regular exercise can reduced feelings of fatigue and gives you energy.

  8. Each time I exercise is usually the best relaxed moment to sleep better, so try any physical form of exercise if you are suffering from insomnia.

  9. When both partners engage in regular exercises, it can improve sexual pleasure and activity.

Lift yourself up from the floor

If you have not been engaging in regular physical exercise, its high time to choose any form of exercise that will be good for your age and physical make up. On the other hand, consult your doctor if you are undergoing a health challenge presently to get good advice on a suitable form of exercise to engage in. Make sure you drink water after each exercise. Taking fruits that can help revitalize your energy level is also advisable after each exercise program.
