Philosophical story: Natural magic

During a touring performance, Doug Henning came to a small town in northern Canada to perform magic tricks on the Eskimos. After he performed a few shows, the Eskimo in a fur coat sat there without laughing or making a sound, and did not applaud until the end of the show.

Doug Henning asked strangely: "Do you like these shows?" They said, "Yes." Doug Henning asked again, "Do you like magic?" One of them replied, "Why do you want to do magic? This world is already amazing."

Doug Henning said, "But, I can make rabbits and pigeons out of thin air." "Why do you do that?" said the Eskimos. "In spring, seals will appear everywhere in the Arctic, and I don’t know them. Where did it come from? It’s amazing. Isn’t this magic?” Doug Henning took out a silver prop ball and said, “I can make this silver ball fly around. This is magic!” Unexpectedly , the Eskimo said: "Every day, there will be a big fireball floating in the air, which not only warms us, but also illuminates the world. What a magic trick this is! Why do we need to perform it?"

Then, the Eskimos got together and whispered to each other for a while, then, someone walked up and said with a smile: "Now, we finally figure out why you are doing those performances. Those who watched your performance have forgotten that magic is What, what you are doing is reminding them and awakening their memories of magic. You did a good job!"

Doug Henning shed tears quietly. He told the Eskimos: "Thank you for teaching me a lesson. I now know what magic is, but I didn't know it before."
