Greetings to everyone in this great community. My sincere thanks goes to @@@sohanurrahman for organizing this beautiful contest.

Traveling around the world is one activity I love undertaking especially with family and friends. It adds a lot to my life, be it academically, my social life, or more knowledge about other places.

I stay at the top most northern part of Ghana with my family which I can boldly say I have explored around my locality. It was on a Sunday when my friends and I decided we take a tour at least to a different town in Ghana. We decided to visit the Upper East Region of Ghana which is also part of the northern part of Ghana.

Upper East is blessed with a lot of tourist sites and recreational facilities in which everyone will like to visit and have a feel of. We traveled from Tamale to Navrongo which is the second largest town in Upper east region.

We took off from Tamale early in morning and started our journey to Navrongo. We travel by road with a six seated car. The distance from Tamale to Navrongo is about 191. 8 km. The time one is expected to spend in the journey from Tamale to Navrongo is about 3 hours. The amount we paid for the fare from Tamale to Navrongo is Ghc40.00.

Coming back to my how my journey was like. We arrived at Navrongo after 3 hours of intense driving. The driver was actually experience so we didn’t faced any serious happenings during our journey. Upon our arrival we needed to freshen up and get some food before exploring the town.
We lodged into one of the hotels that is Graceland Hotel which is just along the road leading to Tamale. After freshen up we decided to get some food. The foods that were available in the town were; ‘Tuozaafi’ which is a local dish made from corn flour, Pounded Yam “fufu”, ‘millet Tuozaafi’, and so on. But there were also foreign foods available too. There were also local drinks available in the town, some of them were; ‘pito’, ‘mashed kenkey’ ‘millet drink’ and so on. After going through the menu of the hotel that’s both local and foreign dishes, we decided to try their local dish. I took the pounded yam, that was actually my first time but I enjoyed it a lot.

After eating and drinking to the maximum, then the exploring started. We didn’t have enough time so we requested for their most famous tourist site and they suggested we visited the Tono Dam at Navrongo. The dam is just a few kilometers away from the main township of Navrongo. It is a natural dam that provides useful services to neighboring communities. The dam is used for both irrigational and commercial purposes alongside economical. It is believed to be about 170ft deep with a lot of fishes in it. No trace of wild reptiles have been found in it.
Here are some beautiful scenes of the vist to the Dam.

In fact it was a very nice tour which I seem never to forget about. Time was actually not on our side so we had to quickly return back to tamale to continue of normal activities.
That’s my review on the place I have ever visited.
