Playing by two competing teams, Hadudu/ Kabadi is an outdoor game which is played on a rectangular court of 12.5 by 10 meters in size. It is divided into two part by a white line. Though each team made of twelve players, seven members of each team shall be on the court at a time. The other team members stay on sidelines as extra players . Two linesmen, a referee, a scorer, a timekeeper and two umpires monitor the game. Which team starts the game is decided by tossing a coin. Then It is played in 20-minute sessions. For scoring a point, a member of a team, referred as the ‘raider’, has to take a deep breath and repeatedly say the word ‘kabadi’ without releasing his breath. At the same time dashing into the rival team’s area and touching as more players as possible. The team being raided will try to struck /capture the raider, since should he return to his own side without releasing his breath, a point is added for his team. If he come back with safety in one breath, everyone he tagged has to leave and the offense gets one point for each of them. Moreover , they may "revive" a teament which was previously tagged out for each enemy gets the boot. If the raider can't come back, the defending team gets a point and the raider must leave the field till he can be "revived". If a team enable to get the entire other team out, they score one and get an extra two points. If player is touched, he is out. Teams alternate among being the defenders and radier.

Although kabaddi is the national sport of Bangladesh, due to the influence of modern sports, it is now almost extinct. Even then, kabaddi is still played as traditional game in some villages.Generally Kabadi is known as Ha-Du-Du. It is also called the ‘game of rural Bengal. It is played with varying rules depending on the place it is being played. Rural spectators enjoy the game. Spectator support this loud, enthusiastic.

Why one will play Kabaddi

  • Improve running speed.
  • This game is a good exercise for learning to dodge.

  • It keeps players physically strong.

Personal judgement about Kabaddi

IMG_29032021_182006_(1250_x_750_pixel).jpg

Kabaddi is actually a game of strength,
speed, strategy and lung power. Kabaddi game allows 14 players to play at the same time which is why more people can participate in this game. This is definitely a good aspect of the game. This game is tossed for which team will participate first. This creates an opportunity for equality. That's another good thing.Since this game is held for a short time, the viewers can watch the game with patience. This game usually uses a lot of physical strength. This game is a lot like wrestling so the audience is more happy with it.
The slogan of the game of Kabaddi is Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi. This slogan is very melodic to hear. This sport is as enjoyable on the one hand and a great opportunity for physical exercise on the other hand so I think this sport should be practiced extensively.

Conclusion

Kabaddi is one of the most popular and ancient games in the world. The game is most practiced in the Indian subcontinent, especially in India and Bangladesh, and is practiced in almost every country in South Asia.It is a game where two teams show physical prowess. The team that has more tactical and physically strong players wins. The chances of physical exercise here are greater than any other sport. This game is held in a 20 minute session, so the spectators have a lot of patience. The spectators get a lot of pleasure watching the game. This game is considered by many to be a game of marginal people or rural people. Although this game is the national game of Bangladesh, still Bangladesh is not playing this game very much. Because the influence of the Western game has weakened the game a lot. The people of Bangladesh are now more busy with cricket, football, volleyball and badminton. Even then it is played as a traditional game in rural areas.
