Sylhet, the historical holy city is located at the northeastern part of Bangladesh. The daughter of nature has decorated the whole Sylhet division with amazing tree gardens, hills, rivers, waterfalls and so on. Sylhet division is known as Greater Sylhet or Sylhet region whereas its main city Sylhet is popularly known as Jalalabad. This picturesque and archaeological Islamic Sufi region is bordered by the three states Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura of India to the east, north and south respectively. Chittagong division is on the southeast side and Dhaka is to the west. Sylhet Division is subdivided into Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj and Sylhet districts.
Jafflong :
Jaflong is hill station and located at Guainghat Upazila of Sylhet District. It is originated from Dauki river that enters into Bangladesh under the name of Piyain river,flowing from the Khasi mountains . Jaflong is overshadowed by subtropical mountains and rain forests. It is famous for stone collections and home of Khasia tribe. Though Rainy season is the perfect time for discovering the real beauty of Jaflong, but most of the people visit here in Winter. In recent time, unrestricted mining and crushing of stones has little bit decreased its beauty. But still now, it’s a must see visited place for the travelers.
Ratargul Swamp Forest:
Ratargul Swamp Forest The Meghalaya river pours into the Gowain, and a narrow stream flows through the Chengi canal to flood the entire region of Ratargul — not only the only freshwater swamp in the country, but also among very few in the entire world. As the small boats move through the snaking waterways canopied by the lush foliage, often spreading as high as 15 metres, many feel, and some for the first time, that we are indeed part of nature; the environment around us. Ratargul has the distinguished feature of supporting a diverse ecosystem of flora and fauna. Its area is 3, 325.61 acre including 504 acre declared as the animal sanctuary in 2015. This only swamp forest in Bangladesh is located 26 kilometres (16 mi) far from Sylhet. Main trees of this forest are zigzag style Koroch and Hizal tree. The root of these trees are on two levels. Monsoon is the right time to see Ratargul. Ratargul radiates the unmatched beauty that draws the large crowd from distant places.

This place will definitely make you feel that nature has spread its green carpet beneath the sky. The most beautiful place with evergreen surroundings, the tea garden is merged with the endless natural beauty. The city is famous for its tea and tea garden, 90% tea of country is produced in Sylhet. Though Sylhet is a beautiful place but the tea garden enriched with the beauty of the city to the next level. It is the most beautiful place of Sylhet to visit.
