I am going to share one of the hot topics in the recent technological world, which is artificial intelligence. Being a student of computer science I have a huge interest in this topic. I have also worked on several projects in artificial intelligence. From my little depth of knowledge, I am sharing an overall summary of this topic from a high level. Hope you will like it.

Artificial Intelligence?

First thing first, artificial intelligence is the combination of machine and intelligence. Among all the huge branches of computer science, artificial intelligence is one of the wide-ranging branches. Using this a computer or computer control robot can perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings like humans. So, artificial intelligence is providing us the opportunity to reduce human efforts in several sectors and involve machines in those.

The first concept of AI begins with a question, "Can Machines Think?". By 1950 a British mathematician Alan Turing wrote a paper titled "Can Machines Think?". Turing said that for solving a problem and making decisions humans use available information as well as reasons, so why can’t machines do the same thing?. This was the logical foundation of the AI concept. Later in 1956, the first program was organized at Dartmouth Summer Research Project on Artificial Intelligence. This was hosted by John McCarthy and Marvin Minsky. In this event, McCarthy tried to gather all the top researchers together but he fell short of his expectations. But everyone is aligned with a statement that AI is an achievable concept. For the next twenty years of AI research, it was a spark event.

Now we are in the age of “big data,” now we can collect huge information about anything and anybody and it is quite tough for a person to process. AI has already shown great success in this regard in several industries, such as technology, banking, marketing, and entertainment. Let's see some common shapes and forms of AI in recent years.

Mobile phones(Siri, Cortona, Google Now).
Video games several characters.
Several robots and robotics.
Voice/Image recognition
GPS

What is the Future of AI?

Nowadays we are using lots of AI in our daily work. In the recent future, you can not imagine a world without AI. The machine is calling us these days even there are several systems where you can interact with the machine. Let's point out several future AI-based technologies which are going to happen very soon.

Driverless cars. Several companies already testing their models.
In the medical sector treatment and care will be handled by AI. Maybe some years later the machine will perform surgery.
In the security and defense systems AI may perform a handy job.
AI is playing a vital role in the education system and it will increase day by day.
