In 1933 he was at Calcutta University. Ramtanu Lahiri joined as a research assistant under Dinesh Chandra Sen. Then in 1936 he joined Dhaka University as a lecturer in Bangla. He left the university in 1944 and joined the Department of Information and Broadcasting. He served as Deputy Director until his retirement in 1982. He was an admirer of Guru Mrtyun Joy Seal. In 1969, Rabindra Bharati University conferred the honorary degree of D.Litt on the poet.

Jasim Uddin's house in Gobindpur village, south of Kumar river, north of Ambikapur railway station in Faridpur Sadar upazila. The house has four old tin sheds. Various items used by the poet are preserved in the houses. Various writings of the poet are displayed in the courtyard of the house.

The poet, therefore, has highlighted the simple nature of the country and the people in the poem. In the poem, the poet has found a new dimension in his poetry. For this reason he is known as a village poet.

At the beginning of his career he taught at Dhaka University for some time. He later joined the highest ranks in the government information and publicity department. Jasim Uddin developed his poetic talent during his student life. His poem 'Kabar' was included in the Praveshka Bangla collection while he was studying at the university.

This is an impeccable poem in the world of Bengali poetry. Every line of this poem has been immortalized in the heart of every Bengali from generation to generation. And it has to be there, it is not just a poem, it is a map of the life of every person in rural Bengal, every word of it can be said to be the story of every soul of abhaman Bengal. This poem is impeccable in form-rhythm-composition but it was not the work of any legendary poet of that time, it was the work of a school student. That young man is still a student, when this poem is included in the Bangla syllabus of Praveshkar, it is clear from this that it is a poem with poetic quality. This young man later became Jasim Uddin, the life poet of rural Bengal. Bengali literature got an excellent collection of lyrical poems like 'Nakshi Kanthar Math' and 'Sojan Badiyar Ghat' through his hands.

His Naxi-Kantha field poetry has been translated into different languages. Chale Masafir is his main travel story. And an honorary D.Litt. From Visva-Bharati University. He also received the Ekushey Padak in recognition of his literary achievements.

The rural poet passed away on March 13, 1986, but through his writings, the Bengali language is still alive in the minds of the people. Poet Jasim Uddin has indebted Bengali literature with his numerous books of poetry, plays, novels, music, travel stories and autobiographies which can never be denied.

Pallijanani Kavita has been compiled from the poet Jasim Uddin's book 'Rakhali'. There is no one in this world who is as compassionate as a mother. Nibunibu Pradeep in the son's devil, the oppression of mosquitoes all around, the winter of the night comes through the gap of the fence.
