My favorite Operating system

Hello everyone ,
This post is about my favorite operating system and this is my first contest on this community, Before I start let me express what an operating system is .

An operating system is a software interface between a computer user and computer hardware that performs all the basic task in a computer.

There are a lot of operating systems, we have:

MS-Windows,Ubuntu,Mac OS, Fedora, Solaris,Chrome OS,CentOS, Debian, Deepin,Free BSD.

As a computer science student I’ve used at least three operating systems that is windows,Ubuntu and Kali Linux,but my favorite operating system is the Kali Linux OS.

KALI LINUX
Kali Linux is a Debian-derived Linix distributor designed for penetration testing and digital forensics.It is developed ,maintained and supported by Offensive security.

Digital Forensics

Digital forensics usually called Digital forensic science, is a subdivision of forensic science ,enclosing the retrieval and investigation of material found in digital devices, often in relation to computer and cyber crime.Digital forensic was first known as computer forensics but it has now spanned all digital devices that can store digital data so it’s now called Digital forensic.

Penetration testing

A penetration test, also known as pen test, or ethical hacking, is a permitted simulated cyber attack on a computer system, performed to assess the security of the computer system .this is different from vulnerability or weakness assessment. Printed is done not to harm the computer but to check and identify the vulnerability of the computer system including the potential unauthorized access to the computer system features and data by a third party ,as well as strength ensuring full risk assessment of the system to avoid future security problems.

DEVELOPMENT

Kali Linux has around 600 already installed penetration testing tools (programs),the programs(tools) include :

Armitage: a graphical cyber attack Management tool for Metasploit Framework that visualizes targets and recommends exploits.

Nmap: a tool used for scanning ports, Nmap is used to discover hosts and services on a particular network by sending packets and analyzing the responses. Nmap displays a number of features for probing computer networks, including discovering of host networks and service and operating system detection.

Wire shark: it is a packet analyzer, it is used for troubleshooting and analysing networks .

Metaspoilt framework(msfconsole):
The metasploit framework provides information about security vulnerabilities and helps in pen testing and IDS signature development.

sqlmap: is an open source penetration testing tool that activate sir initiate s the process of detecting and exploiting SQL injection flaws and taking over of database servers.

The above are jxt a few of the pre installed penetration testing tools on kali Linux.

VERSION HISTORY OF Kali Linux

The initial release of Kali Linux was on 13th March, 2013 and the final release was 24 February, 2021. The various platforms for kali Linux are :x86, x86-64, armel and armhf the default user interface are CFC, GNOME, KDE.

COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Kali Linux require the following specs to run on:

A minimum of 20GB hard disk space for installation depending on the version, Version 2020.2 requires at least 20GB.[17]
A minimum of 2GB RAM for i386 and AMD64 architectures.
A bootable CD-DVD drive or a USB stick.
A minimum of an Intel core i3 or an AMD E1 processor for good performance.
50 GB of hard disk space, preferably SSD
At least 2048 MB of RAM

I’m actually fantasize cyber security so with all this packages that is why I chose kali Linux as my favorite operating system.
