This future of agriculture will be this kind of futuristic Farm set, which looks like something from a sci-fi film, but it is actually an easy and affordable way to grow vegetables, it also requires less space than a normal farm, even if you use different tools than usual.
A growth hall in Nordic Harvest, a 14-story farm on the outskirts of Copenhagen in Denmark. Instead of relying on sunlight and soil to grow its plants, Nordic Harvest uses an unconventional method, it uses robots to plant highly leafy vegetables, such as salad leaves and herbs, on a rich, nutritious gel substrate that dissolves in water as plants grow.
Meanwhile, LED light (which is responsible for the pink color of the growth hall) and carbon dioxide are added, with renewable energy from wind turbines that energizes the entire process. Pesticides are not needed as the hall is kept free of harmful organisms, and the only water left on the farm comes from the plants themselves.
Nordic Harvest says this means that the farm uses 250 times less water than agricultural farms and is 80 times lower than the nursery. It also requires 250 times less space in comparison to a normal farm, according to the company.
Alternative farming can play a role in mitigating some of the pressures that exacerbate climate change, as increased demand for food drives carbon emissions and deforestation, it will be very beneficial for humankind.
