Throwback: Travel Memories @beautybb 14/7/2021

Firstly i want to thank @steemingcuration for this contest.

Memories always remain in our minds and hearts especially when they are extraordinary.

February 10 2020, i traveled to the Eastern part of Nigeria with my husband.

It was a hectic travel moment that took eight hours to get to the east from the Western part of Nigeria precisely Lagos state.

While on the journey,the bus would have to stop by at some fast food restaurants for us to get something to eat,after which we continue our journey.

Because its a very long road we get to see different kind of security men who do watch over the roads.

When we got to the east i was so happy to see my family members again not knowing that something remarkable was going to happen.

We were so happy untill 3pm of 23rd of Feb 2020 something remarkable happened that made my travel a memorable travel till date.

My younger brother was involved in a serious accident that changed our family both financial and otherwise.

I was enjoying my afternoon when i got a phone call from a friend saying that my brother was involved in an accident,only for me to rush to the town of Aba Abia State and see my brother lying lifeless with oxygen on him.

I thought it was a joke till the evening of 25th February 2020 when we were referred to a federal hospital where we can get a space in the intensive care unit(ICU),we were asked to pay bill of 31 SBD before taking him out.

It took us 3hrs to get to the federal hospital with an ambulance,on getting there we were asked to pay for CT Scan for him and that amount to 70 SBD.

From the results he was diagnosed of brain injury,that requires quality time to heal.

Life changed,i was sad about everything,i became exhausted.

I waited for him to wake up from coma but no way.

It took 3months before he woked up from coma,and it took 1year before he regained his memory.

He was discharged with a bill of 1000 SBD After spending a year and 3 months in the hospital.

He cant walk or do anything on his own,he is dependent on other family members to help him.

There is still need for more treatment to help him.

So in conclusion the above incident made my traveling to the Eastern part of my country a memorable travel i can never forget.

Sometimes i still pray for a time i will travel and have a good experience to share with my friends.
