INTRODUCTION

I greet you all my beautiful steemit community members. I hope you are all doing great just as I am, my sincere appreciation goes to all the directors in steemit community for creating this wonderful contest with caption "Perseverance". Perseverance is very important to succeed in our everyday life but most importantly here in steemit community where the newbies are struggling to get acquainted with the steemit community,therefore it is my delight to participate in this contest in order to remind myself and my fellow steemians they need to persevere and the benefits of perseverance.

WHAT IS PERSEVERANCE?

Simply put, perseverance is when one continue to put an honest effort in doing something irrespective of difficulty or delay in obtaining the desired goal. It is the ability to continue doing something no matter the obstacles.Perseverance has to do with believing in oneself, ability, strength and strong determination to forge ahead in order to receive a reward or price. A person who perceives there is someone who show a commitment to what he or she does and diligently carry it to the end.

WHY IS PERSEVERANCE NECESSARILY

1. perseverance is very important because without it,it is impossible for one to achieve his goals.

2. You need perseverance to reach your goals:
   Effort is required to attain ones goal. For example, a footballer will need effort,time, patience to train and retrain in order to achieve his goals of emerging the winner during competition.

3. Perseverance carries you through failure: failure is an awful feeling,therefore many people believe that so avoid failure is to never try anything but when you approach failure with perseverance you will be able to sell true by true and again and again even when it's risky.

4. Perseverance encourages adaptability:Adaptability is the ability of being able to adjust to new conditions, therefore a person who persevere would be able to try something again and again, think outside the box, bring in new ideas when the former isn't working.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH PERSEVERANCE

Mylife at every stage is a story of perseverance, moving from one phase of life to the other,without perseverance I would not have been here today or achieve all I have been able to achieve.
I finished my senior secondary school education in the Year 2008, fortunately I passed all my subject in both west African senior school certificate examination (WAEC) and national examination council of Nigeria (NECO), which one of these was a criteria for gaining admission into higher institution. Without delay I immediately pick joint admission and matriculation board (JAMB) examination but unfortunately I could not pass the exams that year. I kept repeating the exams for 5 years from 2009 to 2013 without growing weary, despite studying very hard and getting myself prepared for this examination, some yes I will pass the subject while to of other subjects withheld but in the year 2013 I passed JAMB apply for universal tertiari matriculation examination UTME but I did not make it. The wasn't the whole situation my closest friends gain admission into various universities while I was still struggling with mine, my dad god angry that he said he was never going to register jamb for me again.
I became heartbroken I wanted to give up, but on a second thought I decided to try again so I pleaded with one of my brother to help me with some money to purchase jamb form, but he knowing how many times I already sit for the exams for the lawmaker said he will give me the money but on the condition that if I failed again whether is jamb or UTME that I was going to pay him back his money.
At this point I decided to get up and face my challenges,I apply for the exams once again, prepared very well and fortunately with Jehovah's help, this time around I passed both JAMB and UTME , got the average Mark that was required for the course I applied for and before I even know it I was offered admission into the University of Calabar. Words alone cannot Express how happy I was, tears of Joy rolled down my cheeks I was super excited.from then on I have been persevering even until I completed my university education and now I continue to persevere in order to achieve other things I hope for.

WHAT CAN HELP US PERSEVERE

Firstly,trusting in Jehovah, believing he will see us through any circumstances we may face as long as we put faith in him and also imitating the example of those who persevere in the time past.
Lastly, perseverance is easier when you have a clear vision, a mental map of where you are going in life, what you want to achieve and how to achieve it. There is nothing like shortcut to success, therefore,start by jotting your plans down in a clear and simple terms, including all the strategies, what you may encounter and how you wish to overcome it. Be specific and organise.

CONCLUSION

My experience with perseverance has taught me that at each phases in life you will be face with different challenges, failure, disappointment, rejection, heartbroken but do not let any of this weigh you down rather be determine to push forward, change directions, bring in new ideas, diversify. Because at the end your perseverance will lead you to achieving your goals and you will boasts like the apostle Paul when he said at2Timothy 4:7 that he fought the fine fight, and that he ran the race to the finish.
