A Pandemic That Never Ends

Are you all in good health and happy..? I always pray and hope that we are all always in the protection of ALLAH. And happiness accompanies our lives now and forever. In the pandemic situation that we are currently experiencing, it is very important for all of us to maintain health and increase faith and piety. At this time, I want to share a post that I hope can give us motivation and can be a material for our reflection together.

This time I want to tell about the living conditions that people have experienced during the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia, especially in the city that I live in, namely Aceh (Indonesia). If people make mistakes in all social activities, people must keep their distance and avoid restrictions / crowds, so the policy greatly affects all daily activities that are usually carried out by the community such as work, worship, stay in touch, and other physical contact activities. In other words, now people have to change what they often do, although it is difficult to do it instantly but little by little changing it must change it so that life returns to normal.

Almost two years now the Indonesian people have experienced instability in many ways, one of which is the economy and livelihoods, many and other jobs that have to reduce employees to comply with the policies and rules that have been chosen by the government. With the reduction of employees, workers are inevitable and many people have no income.

The economic situation of the people is increasingly chaotic and irregular, the prices of daily necessities have increased, more and more jobs have gone out of business and many have experienced a massive decline in turnover. Many people who open small businesses or home-based businesses close the business due to declining sales and experiencing a lack of working capital/bankruptcy.

Now in cities and rural areas, restrictions on curfew activities have been imposed, people are not allowed to do activities or gather more than 20:00 WIB. If there are people or traders who are still carrying out activities above the specified hours, they will be subject to sanctions and even merchandise, markets, shops, shop houses, places of business will be sealed by the authorities. At night the cities and villages experience significant changes, the atmosphere becomes quiet because vehicles and community activities have been limited.

The people's economy is increasingly uncertain the value of their income, many do not work and have no daily income. I am one of the people who experienced a drastic decrease in the value of income, now I do not have a permanent job since I was dismissed from one of the companies where I work. Now I only work as a wholesale laborer with erratic working hours, sometimes a week I can only work two days, the rest I look for other jobs as a fisherman for household needs that must be met every day.

The public and the government do not know for sure when things will return to normal and Covid-19 will really end, all we can do now is follow the orders and policies of the government. But behind the calamities we are facing now, we must not be pessimistic and give up human beings, continue to do our best and follow health protocols and also continue to pray to Allah so that we are all soon kept away from this disaster.
