Are you all in good health and enjoying ..? I always pray and hope that we are all always in the protection of ALLAH. And happiness accompanies our lives now and forever. In the pandemic situation that we are currently experiencing, it is very important for all of us to maintain health and increase faith and piety. At this time, I want to share a post about my visit to the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh (Indonesia)
Baiturrahman Grand Mosque Banda Aceh is one of the most visited places by local and foreign tourists, apart from being a place of worship for Muslims, the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is also a place for religious tourism. I often visit the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque when I am in Banda Aceh City to perform Friday prayers or at other times of prayer, the beauty and splendor are the main attractions for visitors, but if we trace the history of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque it is very amazing.
When I was at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque I didn't want to miss the moment to find out more about the history of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. I also asked the administrators of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque and several indigenous people who had lived in Banda Aceh for a long time, according to their story that the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque was first built in 1292 by Sultan Alaidin Mahmudsyah.
Baiturrahman Grand Mosque used to have only one dome and one minaret, other domes were built and added in 1935, 1958 and 1982. Today the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque has 8 minarets and 7 domes and is currently the tallest in Banda Aceh.
When Banda Aceh was hit by the 2004 Earthquake and Stunami disaster, the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque only suffered minor damage to the slightly cracked wall, the main tower located in front of the mosque also cracked and slightly tilted due to the earthquake.
Many people who were victims of the earthquake and tsunami took refuge and were evacuated to the mosque, the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque was used as a temporary shelter for people who were displaced and who needed help. Not a few people when the tsunami hit Banda Aceh made the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque a place of refuge from the swift currents of the tsunami, the people who were inside the mosque at that time all survived the disaster.
Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is located in downtown Banda Aceh which is a symbol of religion, culture, historic buildings, resilience, and a testament to the struggle of the Acehnese people. Now tourists from various regions visiting the Baiturahman Grand Mosque usually spend time studying its history, enjoying the beauty of architecture, worshiping and capturing moments with family by taking pictures. For those of you who have not visited it, hurry up your intention to directly visit the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh with family and other relatives.
That's all my story this time may be useful and make motivation for all of us. Thank you I say to all who have supported this post and who gave me the opportunity.
