HOW DO I INTRODUCE STEEMIT?

First and foremost, I would like to express my appreciation to the @steemingcurators team for presenting this great contest for us to share our recruiting experience and also learn from the experience of recruiter around the globe. Sometimes the approach we take when inviting people to join us can ultimately decide whether or not the person would show any interest and if they would, how long they would stay. Personally, I think these steps work very well in bringing and retaining people on board. Let me now take you through my procedure.

CREATING AWARENESS

This is the very first step I take during recruitment of my newcomers. Since the closure of colleges and the pandemic restricted my access to people and limited my ability to physically connect with many people, I have mostly resorted to WhatsApp to recruit my steemians. This is the most used social platform in the country which is both an efficient and cheaper way of communicating. For some time now, I have noticed that most Ghanaians spend most of their time of social media especially WhatsApp sharing numerous of status updates just for the sake of it.

Once I notice your have a desire for content sharing, I will then send you a private message inviting you for an audio call. My approach is a simply one ; Do you know that you could do what you are currently doing here on a different platform that has a potential for you to earn from it?

I find this approach quite simple and efficient since the lay man in Ghana has never hear of the word 'blockchain' and could lose interest if I start boring them with too many crypto/blockchain details.

I even provide this piece of flyer which presents a summary of the steemit ecosystem which was shared by @mcsamm during our first Steem Ghana meetup.

FINDING THE RIGHT COMMUNITIES

The first thing I do is guide my newcomers to find the newcomers community where they would find a team of steem greeters (me included) who will guide them to fully understand the nature of the steemit ecosystem and find the necessary tools that will guide their stay on this platform. I would then encourage them to take this training quite seriously as they would be able to produce posts of high quality to maximize their potential when they start joining contests/challenges.

Do you know I was the first newcomer to graduate from the newcomer's community and become a pro newcomer? This really motivates my newcomers to be more active and post consistently as they learn of my personal experience. I would then inform them of my status as a country representative and how I was able to achieve this through consistency and adding value to the ecosystem.

Now that we have our own Ghanaian community, I guide them to subscribe to it and share their contents especially their #thediarygame and #mytown10pics posts through this community. I would now explain the need for us all to accumulate steem power for our account since it determines your level of influence on steem token distribution and will boost our potential to distribute more rewards in the Ghanaian Community.

If I already know a subject are you are passionate about, I would recommend a community which aligns with your interest for you to join. This is because, writing is much easier if you identify a community of similar interest that has a good support system and an upward trend.

With the help of this list of steemit communities categorized by their subjects, they can readily find one that suits their interests, enabling them to be consistent on steemit with so much ease.

PRODUCING QUALITY CONTENTS

Since steemit offers the opportunity for authors and content creators to be rewarded for their posts, it is very important for them to consistently produce quality material. Newcomers should therefore be given the requisite training needed to improve their writing skill and with my position as a steem greeter, I am able to help them polish up their writing skills.

I have to admit sometimes our recruits face several challenges with these tasks but through meetings, phone calls and messaging, I am able to guide them and assist them. I also leave replies on their posts here on steemit with a few guideline/tutorials to help solve their problem.

GOOD EARNING POTENTIAL

Now I explain the curation/reward system of steemit to my recruits. I always advice them to write about what they are like because those are the posts which are more likely to be well-written with much ease and of a high quality. Steemit is all about creativity and consistency so you might not be noticed at first, but with time you start to make some friends here on steem who are also focused on building their accounts.

I do the most I can with the curation of their accounts with my personal account, @steem-ghana account, @steemcurator04 account as well as select some of their posts for @booming support. I make them aware that @steemcurator01 votes are not guaranteed but I will do my best to support their contents with the resources at my disposal.

I trust that these steps greatly assists the newbie to become quite conversant with this system and can operate with little guidance soon.
