THE DAILY DIARY GAME 3/08/2020: A NAMING CEREMONYsteemCreated with Sketch.

It was another day again but this time I woke up very early in the morning by 4am so I could quickly arrive at venue of a naming ceremony.

Yeah, I remember saying in my last diary session yesterday that I was ironing a cloth for a particular ceremony which I attended today. The ceremony was a naming ceremony, and not just a random one but my sister's naming ceremony.

She recently gave birth a week ago on July 27th to a bouncing baby boy which the boy would be named today and my family would be attending except my dad. My dad had traveled to another state for work related matters so he couldn't follow us to the naming ceremony.

So, after waking up by 4am. The usual activity I do when I wake up from sleep is the family morning devotion where we dedicate our day to God and thank him for the grace of another day. Next on, my family and I went on to brush and take a bath and get ready for the journey to the venue of the ceremony

Latest, by 5am we were done and ready to move. I am sure you would be thinking why leave that early for the ceremony and if your thoughts is that the venue is far, you are correct but that is not the main reason. In my state, Monday morning is a very ethic day. It is always filled with traffic as many people journey to work at the same time which causes the traffic. Moreover, my family were not going alone; we also planned on picking up one of my aunt and her children over.

The vehicle we took along was a Nissan Pathfinder Jeep, which is capable of taking 5 to 6 sitters plus allow some people stay in the Jeep. We were only four leaving for the ceremony which was my brother, mum, my cousin and I. My brother drove the car, my cousin sat beside him then I sat at the back with my mum. When we got to my aunt's place, she joined me and my mom at the back while her children stayed at the boot of the car then we moved.

Below is a picture of the Nissan Pathfinder Jeep

On my our way to the location, I surprised when they send they want to pick another of my aunt on the way and I was like this was not as planned on. I didn't like the idea because I would have to go to stay in the boot with the children which I had earlier said the day before I am not staying in that boot but anyway, I had no choice. I went to stay in the boot because I can't send my aunt to sit in the boot because it would look weird.

Below are pictures I took in the boot along side my aunt's children.

As expected, there was traffic on the way which made us arrive at the location by past 8'o clock. It didn't look as if they were going to start anything any time soon because no arrangement have been made. It wasn't surprising at all even though my mum had been shouting that they would begin by 9am because I know that time was quite too early to begin the naming ceremony.

My brothers and I assisted my brother-in-law which is my sister's husband to prepare for the naming ceremony. What we did was to set the chairs in the hall and then get a generator for the program. It was compulsory to wash and then sanitize your hands before entering.

The ceremony began by 12pm and ended still about 2pm. My mind was not active during the program as I was half asleep throughout but I was able to know what names that were given to the child. The boy was named Michael, Samuel, oluwadamilare and others which I can't remember but I do know he had up to 8 names if not more than.

After the ceremony, we were all served Jollof rice and a soft drink. Thereafter, my family left for home which took us about 3hrs to arrive after dropping off my aunt and her children at their homes.

That was how my day went and below are pictures taken with my brother and cousin.

Congratulations to your sister.

Sorry for sitting in the boot, but I guess it wasn't a bad idea seeing you enjoy yourself with those little ones. I am sure they were happy having sit with them and take a picture with them.

Yeah thanks alot and for also reading through.

Smile, I so much hate sitting at the boot but anyway, all good 🤗

Great diary and spending time with family is fun.

Please consider including captions for each of your pictures.

Also, it's not necessary to repeat same pictures, you can post less than 8 pictures and there's no minimum limit for pictures, only maximum limit of 8.

Cheers and steem on.

First of all, thanks for skimming through and the comment.

Just to note, I didn't repeat same pictures, you can probably check it properly. Then there are captions for those pictures there, and it's neither necessary for each of them to have they have all been classed under a caption above them.

Thanks again. Hope you have a nice day 😉
