Steeming Community Contest: A Day to Remember

A pleasant and safe day everyone here in the community.
Remember to take extra care and pray for protection all the time.
Thank you for this brilliant idea by steemingcuration. This is timely because we have more time to reminisce the past,besides its hard to take good pictures outside due to restrictions. We have this box of the past memories saved and kept and every fragment of it is special.
Those were collections of our learned experiences.

Though it may be good or not so good it is a story.
I am grateful to share a bit of this here in steeming community because I feel more that I belong here. This would be a book of colorful memories. And sharing this is not just a chance but an opportunity to open up the uniqueness in us. Seldom we are given the value to share.

A Day to Remember
It was somewhere in the month of October ,2016 when it was my first year of experience as a teacher in my alma mater, Nissi Academy International .
When I got married I seldom travel to places anymore. But this I considered a reward from God of being a mentor to kids. Who will refuse a travel to Ilocos Philippines where Baguio City ,the summer capital of the country is located?

We had to travel by plane to reach Metro Manila . And Baguio City is 250 kilometers far from Manila. It took almost half day to reach Baguio City. We arrived at about 3 a.m and reached the region at almost lunchtime.
It was an excellent food experience. Baguio City restaurants offered fresh lettuce salad with sweet mushrooms. Added to it is their chicken platter for two but can be shared by four.

Beautiful Places
If I will make this in the most detailed way, it would be a thousand words. It was the best travel I had in my entire life. In five days I been to places in Ilocos Region .
I could not recall which were the first places we've been . In Port Pilar , Philippine Military Academy we witnessed the army trainees drilled on their uniforms. And tried to touch this war tanks used by the soldiers of war.

I could not believe I walked in the historic and hispanic streets of Vigan,with Karetelas carried by horses. Where tourists were busy taking pictures and bought some wooden artworks of different things. Old gray houses made of wood and floors are waxed. And at night it seemed I travelled half the century backwards.

The next day followed and we dropped by Burnham Park where the pine trees smell so good and cold.
Then we dropped by a flower garden which was near to the place we stayed.

It was labeled as Hidden Garden where bonsai plants and other unique flowering plants were landscaped.
Then a day before we prepared for going home we went to Baluarte Field . A place of preserved animals were on exhibit. I could smell dried flesh of meat and bones of this animals. But it was an interesting place. I wondered how did they ship this animals from its source to the place?

Added to this was a stroll to a Strawberry Market to buy something for home. I could not believe I had 3 jars of strawberry jam for a hundred pesos, and with real strawberry fruits inside. How I wish and pray I could be back in that city with my family.
That was a one time real experience which I did not expect to happen. And I could say a million thanks to our school head , teacher Denise who organized the travel.
All in all that was great.
