While I can't join the festivities tonight, I just want to wish everyone who can a great event at Steemit and hopefully people will come out of the experience having met some new people, connected virtually live with some familiars and become more enthusiastic and positive about the future.
This year has been strange and difficult in many ways and I think that while many of us have had to adjust heavily to find a balance in this new normal, overall, I hope that those on Steemit have at least had a place to share experiences and be valued for what they share. As someone who in the past has been very private with my life, I have come to value the process and interaction through sharing experience heavily over the last years, writing a lot and building a relationship through the framework that is the Steemit blockchain.

While the future us always uncertain, I believe that as a community in an industry that is rapidly evolving and heading toward mass adoption, we are well positioned to be a solid part of shaping what is to come, by giving people the digital space to build and secure their homes, on and off the blockchain. More and more, our activities here are going to spill out into the real world and the real world, is going to plug in and integrate with the blockchain.
steemit has the potential to satisfy many user needs from a space to create and consume, to a place to interact socially, manage daily tasks and of course, supplement incomes to spread personal risk by embedding into a community. Yes, the community is distributed and what motivates each participant at any given time may vary, but we are all connected through the infrastructure, which not only facilitates our success, but cushions our failures.
I hope that with the tools we have and those to come, we will be able to further build outward to increase inclusion and develop a robust infrastructure that benefits all of us who are looking to take responsibility for ourselves and help others along the way. There is a very long way to go and there will be a lot of hurdles thrown at us and that manifest internally, yet as a community that can take many approaches, it is possible to innovate and grow through the support and improvement of what works and the acceptance and letting go of what doesn't.
Here I will leave it for this post, but I hope that in the coming years, we are able to build a culture of stronger collaboration in order to find solutions to the challenges that face us as people, wherever we are from, whatever our background may be.
Conditions always change, whatever they might be today. Stay well. Stay positive.
