Have you ever done something you don’t want to do? You hate yourself whenever you do it, but you can’t just help it.

Bad habit wastes your time, energy and jeopardizes your life emotionally and physically. You think of having a better life and doing things that have better values to your life, but your willpower and strength reduce every time and you end doing that thing you don’t want to do. You momentarily forget your goals and plans or lack the control over the temptation.

You may have planned well to eat healthy and to stop Junk consumption, but after a few days of eating well, you found yourself in a snack bar eating the burger and snacks you promised yourself not to eat again. This is the least one habit cage. Many people face more serious cage and they hate themselves every time they do them.

Breaking out of bad cage could be hard and forming a new positive one might be easy, but the act of forming a new positive habit could drive you out of the bad ones. For instance, when you say, I want to be going to the gym twice a week, if you take on this habit, you may learn the effect of the food you consume after the gym and this will slowly take over your unhealthy feeding habit.
No one has many bad habits.

You only have one or two, but they affect every part of your life. If you have nonchalant attitude, you are likely to procrastinate, lazy, eat unhealthy, lack manners and so much more. On the surface, people see many bad habits, but the source is one.

Uncage yourself

Start with a little change.
The truth is — it takes time to stop a habit. If you are smoking and you wish to drop smoking, it is not a day you would stop. Even if you say — I am stopping today, it is likely you pick it up again after some period. So take the step, little by little. If you smoke 4 cigarettes a day, you could take it to two, from two to one, and from one to not smoking.

Avoid temptation
I stopped drinking alcohol about 5 years ago and I promised myself never to drink again because of some commitments and health issues, but whenever I went to a party or stay within my friends that drink alcohol, I tend to drink. So, to avoid this, I stopped going to parties and seeing my friends I bar. Whenever I have important things to discuss with them, I hook them up in a place where there is no alcohol.

People around you also contribute to your bad habits. Whenever you see some things they bring on thoughts to your mind and from that you started doing the things you don’t want to do. Avoid contacts with temptation and lets nothing lure you into them.

Replace old habits with new ones.
One of the best ways to get rid of a habit is to find a similar one to replace it. Your habit influences your choice and everything you do. The way you deal with situations determine your choice. I know of a man that found a habit to replace smoking in a soft drink. He found one specific drink that gave him the same thing the smoking was doing and he adopts it. First, think about the things you get from the habit you want to change, when you know it, gradually replace it with another habit that would add value to your life.

Live well and love yourself.
Do not give yourself up. If it doesn’t seem right then you need to change it. Love yourself and enjoy every minute of that good habit and stick to them. We all have made mistakes in the past and you should not keep judging yourself, rather embrace yourself and make an amendment.

You are better.
