Cocoa Production In My Village

Today I am here to talk about cocoa, its importance, and the harvest processes. Cocoa farming is the process of harvesting cocoa beans, which are used for chocolate and other cocoa products.

Cocoa production is important to the economy of Nigeria. Cocoa is the country's leading agricultural export, and Nigeria is currently the world's fourth-largest producer of cocoa, after the Ivory Coast, Indonesia, and Ghana.

These are the major states that produce cocoa in Nigeria. Ondo, Cross River, Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Delta, Osun, and Ondo, Cross River, Ekiti, Osun, Delta, and Oyo In Cross River State, Nigeria, where I am from, most farmers are into the farming of cocoa because it is more profitable, as I experienced from them. When cocoa is planted, it takes 3–4 years before it bears fruits that can be harvested, depending on the variety of the location and soil.

Steps of harvesting cocoa, After cutting the cocoa pods from the trees, divide the pods with a knife and extract the cocoa beans from the pods. After you finish separating the beans from the pods, the next thing is to ferment and dry all the beans until they are all dry.

Avoid exposing the cocoa beans to rainfall. When all is done and the seed has all turned black, the cocoa beans have been packaged in various bags and are ready to be sold to a buyer. Thanks for reading my post. You all have a blessed day.

In Cross River State, Ikom is one of the local government areas where you can find millions of cocoa beans. The majority of the people in Ikom are cocoa farmers, which is why there are supplies of cocoa in the town. Ikom is good at exporting cocoa.
