Good day my fellow steemian,
I started today on good terms as I was up and grateful for seeing another day.

As business of the day begin. I had encounter, completing some basic multiplication of numbers to know the outcome of business I was negotiating with a customer.
It would have been much easier for me if calculator or handset was available.
You should be familiar with challenge - always come at the juncture of less to no option.
It could have been a loss of business deal for me or a case of embarrassment 🤷
I had asked my nephew to provide me with calculator and he did reply me to have lost it few days ago.
He had then suggest he can help if it's about calculation. Though the boy is good with Math and to save myself. I had to gave him a chance, trust me when I say I am now saved.

I save my pride and decide to learn his trick.

To solve this in absence of calculator or handset calculator.

Step 1👉_ check out the digits in the question, and get familiar with it.

Step 2👉 the first digit in this question is 3. therefore, make three vertical line.
Next digit in the question is 1. Keep space and draw one vertical line.
And the next digit is 2. Make a space and draw another two vertical line.

Step 3👉 312 is to be multiply by 4 and you have make vertical line for 312.

Next is to make four horizontal line across the vertical lines you already made for 312.
Note: You make vertical line for first line of digits you have in your question and then the number of horizontal line you are to make across the vertical line you already made depends on the number you will need to multiply the first digits in your question.
Example: 312× 4. In total you will make 6 vertical line for the first line of digits and next is 4 horizontal for the last line of digit which is 4.

Step 4👉 at each intersection of the vertical and horizontal line. Mark it with dot.
At each of the row, beneath it, write down the number of dot you counted.

This has only one dot because. In multiplying 1000×1000 you have to make one vertical line and one horizontal line. Hence, you will have one intersection which cause you to have one dot.
Just write down your one and then the total zero in your question is 6.
Add the six zero the the 1 you have.
And your answer turn to one million.

Note

This might not be working in some cases or maybe, there are other trick that are out there I don't know yet.
Advisable to always make use of your calculator when and if one is available and within your reach.
