The Diary Game || 02-04-24 || Shopping In the Heart of my City and Mentoring Steemians

Dear Diary,
It was a day I discovered that to spend money is hard and time consuming as well as making money. I stepped out of my comfort zone after one month of lockdown to town. Everywhere looked strange and things really undergo changes a lot. It was then I believed the saying, if you don't have money, what are you looking for in greener pastures? This is my shopping diary game of which some experiences would be told, shocking ones. My phone almost got stolen in broad daylight. This is the narration.

Morning Activities

I can't remember sleeping comfortably the previous night because I was just busy trying to complete lot of tasks on my phone. As days keep passing by, I tend to get more tasks to be done which stresses me more than anything and sometimes change my schedules on certain things. I woke up and did my usual scrub exercise and house chores before considering the scriptures with my family.

The scriptures considered were up building and lessons were learnt. I had plans to do shopping that day so I did my scale of preference budget so I won't spend more than planned or spend on things that are my wants before my needs. These were things I really needed.

These was my actual budget. I didn't plan much as this power Bank took me out of the house to purchase. Going to the market early prevents late returns. So I prepared early and had my breakfast of Bread and Beans before leaving.

Sun was really giving its brilliance that day and the scourge was really scourging. I could literally feel its burnt to the point that I had to board vehicle that has umbrella even though I had to wait so long a time , i couldn't take such risk. When I saw the vehicle with umbrella, I got on top and alighted by the junction where I boarded another vehicle to where I wanted to do purchases.

On my way to the place, I took pictures of a notorious school in my city known for fighting with other schools. They were at it again whe policemen came around to stop such mess. Whenever this school fight, the road is always in chaos and if you're to observe, juniors are the ones leading the way in this fight.

On getting to the heart of my city called Plaza along Ikot Ekpene road, I alighted and paid the driver. I headed to where phone accessories are sold at wholesale price to purchase the power bank I wanted, on getting there, I was shocked to hear that the power bank of 12k then is now 17k due to the increment of dollar rate then.

I tried checking other places to see of they'll be a difference in price but there was none. Other places had their prices at 19k - 21k. I ran back to that wholesale store to buy at their rate as theirs was the cheapest rate.

I bought the Power Bank at the rate of 17k there and did transfer to them....On leaving the place to checkout the market, someone almost got my phone from my hand but my facial expression scared him. I was just passing by when another passers-by held my phone almost completely not until I dragged it back to myself without even looking back as if something happened.. On getting to the market, things changed drastically compared to the last time I visited this area.

The market was scanty and not as busy as before. I then strolled down to where I would see good house wears and purchase. I checked the first place of which a man was in charge. I took some clothes from the pile he had and then showed him. He said one of the wears is a thousand naira.

I told him I wasn't with that amount of money and that we should bargain. He told me that it was the fixed price. I just left him instantly because it was an open market and not a boutique that has fixed prices.

On leaving there, he called me back and then talked like a man, apologizing for being strict. He thought he can use my head seeing how young I am. I told him I'll buy at the rate of #700 naira. We bargained for almost 5 minutes before he allowed me take the clothes.

I then went to another open wears vendor.This was managed by a young boy and his price was fixed. I tried bargaining because the has good wears but he was too adamant. I just had to purchase the wears before it passes me.

These are pictures of the wears I purchased from the guy and the amount I paid. It started raining heavily but subsided in no time. This gave me the chance to enter the popular mall in my city. This mall is called Dechoice mall. I took to purchasing some things there which were my wants at the moment.

Getting to the mall, I did some captures in what was sold there. Prices were not really friendly but affordable. I didn't go there to buy much as it was just personal stuffs or miscellaneous as the case may be. I took to purchasing toothpaste, body spray and air freshener.

I know it may sound small but the cost was loud. Just 3 things and it was looking as of I bought nothing. The total price according to the attendant was 4600 plus. So imagine buying these few things for such amount of money.

After purchasing these things, I left the mall to purchase some snacks for my hungry stomach and also for my siblings. I purchased some popcorns in this mall and then went to their food area to ask for a delicacy. They didn't have it on set and I didn't have that patience to wait. I took to leaving the mall and the weather was just so Clement and sweet.

	I stopped by a shawarma joint to purchase one for personal use as it's been long I ate such. I reached my house in no time and took to consuming it in a blow. These are pictures of the shawarma I consumed.

When evening came, I went to my neighbour's house to capture her business products of which she was arranging organic products which includes tiger nut and cocoyam flour. These flour are made from the fruits itself and are dried for days before grinding.

Tigernut flour	This flour is used to do tigernut drink and sold in the local market or in malls. It serves the stress of having to grind these products. These are the shafts of the products she was trying to sieve it
Cocoyam flour	This flour is used to lessen the stress of not going to the farm or market to purchase these products and then process it for food. You'll just have to buy the flour and make your ready-made pounded yam.

I then took to mentoring my students before going to bed....This is my Business Diary Game.
