Greetings steemians. How are you today? I hope you are all fine as I am. I appreciate @mesola for organising and sustaining this contest titled Let's Do It...Do It Yourself👉Craft, Creativity, Drawing, origami, DIY, Recycling and more. Today, I want to present my craft on the construction of a teddy bear using old newspapers. I believe all the children in this community will like it and the parents as well.

Materials for construction

• Newspapers
• Black embossed paper
• Plain white paper
• Acrylic colour
• Carton
• Brush
• Scissors
• Black sole tape

Steps of construction

Step 1
I began my craft work by folding the newspapers. I fold each paper into two and then cut it. The next thing I did was to open the paper and then use my smooth iron to fold it into straight-folded papers.

Step 2
I used the folded paper in Step 1 and folded it into a circular shape. I made this one to serve as the head of the teddy bear.

Step 3
I fold another one with an opening at the centre to serve as the body of the teddy bear.

Step 4
I gummed the head and the body of the teddy bear together using an adhesive.

Step 5
Here, I folded the newspaper into two other circles without whole at the centre to serve as the ears of the teddy bear. After the folding, I gummed the ears on the head of the teddy.

Step 6
I folded two more papers into a circle with an opening at the centre. After that, I pressed it with force to form an oval shape which I used as the hand of the teddy bear. Therefore, I gummed it with adhesive between the neck and body of the teddy bear.

Step 7
I formed another circle from the folded paper in step 1 to be the legs of the teddy bear. Hence, gummed it on the teddy bear.

Step 8
Here, I cut a carton and gummed it through the back of the teddy to cover the big opening on the body of the teddy bear. Finally, at this stage, I coloured the entire teddy bear using red acrylic colour and the stomach with black acrylic.

Step 9
I coloured part of the ears and legs with yellow poster colour.

Step 10
Finally, I cut small pieces of white paper and black embossed paper to form the eyes and mouth of the teddy bear. I also folded a black sole tape and gummed it as the bow tie of the teddy bear.
