Update #86: Writing Expedition ✍️, Have Fun while Writing! Drawing of a Cartoon Image

Greetings to you fellow steemians. How are you today? I suppose you all are fine as I am. Today, I have the privilege to participate in this week's contest titled: Update #86: Writing Expedition ✍️, Have Fun while Writing! Choose From a variety of Topics. The Tuesday topic as found in the contest is: "DIY/Arts/Drawing/craft /repairs/sewing/origami and more". I have decided to draw a cartoon character in this week's contest and my choice of drawing is to attract the attention of all the kids in this community and the parents as well.

Materials For Drawing

• Plain A4 paper
• Pencil
• Colours
• Eraser
• Sharpener

Steps Of My Drawing

Step 1
I started by drawing the head of the cartoon. On the head, I drew the cap, the eyes, the nose, the mouth, the cheek and the six long hairs around the mouth pencil which three are drawn to the left and the remaining three to the right.

Step 2
Here I drew the body of the cartoon image. I started with the right hand which is inside the pocket of the jacket it is wearing, the stomach and the rope that is attached to the cap.

Step 3
I drew the left hand holding a cup close to the mouth. From the cup, I drew a straw to the mouth of the cartoon.

Step 4
At this stage, I completed the pencil work. I drew the trousers, the two legs and the shoes it is wearing.

Step 5
With the help of a blue colour, I shaded the cap and the jacket leaving the rope of the cap as white.

Step 6
Here I shaded the part of the shoes as blue and the remaining part including the shoe lense as white. I also shaded the black eyelids with a 12B pencil.

Step 7
I coloured the trousers in the cartoon image using a yellow colour.

Step 8
In this step, I coloured the drink in the transparent cup. I also show in the drawing how the drink flows through the straw to the mouth of the cartoon image.

Step 9
At this final stage of the drawing, I used my 6B pencil and lightly shaded the body of the cartoon image. I also shaded or drew some hairs on its head that are not covered by the cap and lastly, I lightly shaded the body of the cup using a pencil.
