Good day lovely kids lovers and kids in this community i am so happy to be participating in this contest organised in this community by @ngoenyi. I will be making my entry. So i welcome you to my blog this day. I am @charis20.

Growing up back then at home two times every week my home radio station do have this time out for children moral tales. This happens every Tuesdays and Fridays in BCA Umuahia, Abia State. So we always await that special time every evening by 8:30PM. Also my Mommy do tell us stories too from her wealth of knowledge. Why this tales are good for children is because it is filled with a lot of moral lessons and it helps the children to be engaged in critical thinking and asking of deep questionstoo. I will be telling about Tortoise and Other Animals, How he got married with deceit.

Tell me your favorite childhood story in not less than 250 words in your own words

As i was told that Tortoise is a very crafty animal, it can lie and he thinks its a show of wisdom.

One day in the land of the animals, lion as the kind of the jungle came and made this pronouncement about his intention for anyone that will help him complete a particular task.

Lion said, i am building a big house so anyone that one will fatch water to fill everywhere which will be enough to build the house to completion will be the one to marry my daughter.

Wow, it was a great competition because getting married to lions daughter means that you will get this protection as the lion is the king of the jungle. So, all the animals present where very happy and they got ready to start the work as soon as possible. They where already casting lots on who will the luck animal be.

Tortoise then called all the animals together that they should hit the drums and dance, all the animals went to a particular place and started hitting the drums and celebrating while the work has not been down.

Tortoise then went behind and bought some animals who weren't present during the meeting with the lion to start fetching water for him. So they went down to the stream and began to fetch water, they filled the lions house with water down to the washing bows and cups.

Shoutly tortoise told them to stop the dancing. When they stopped every animal then went to fetch water for the lion, when they got to the lions house, he told them that there was no space. With much surprise they asked who fetched the water for him, he told them it was the tortoise. They where so furious.

The lion added that he has given tortoise his daughter as he earlier promised. This made them to be more angry that tortoise betrayed them all.

What are the lessons learned from that story? About 5 of them

• It is good to be focused in whatsoever you want to do. If the animals where focused the tortoise wouldn't have played on there intelligence.
• There is time for everything, the animals used the working time for celebration
• Do not betray trust. People will trust you so much but will stay away from you when you betray their trust in you.
• Lesson from tortoise and Lion you may not be able to do everything by yourself, so always ask for help when the need arises
• Lesson from tortoise again is that, wisdom is not measured in size or age, a small child can exhibit much wisdom than a grwon up, so don't be too proud to learn wisdom from both ends
  

How did you learn the story or who told you the story?

I learnt this story from my Mommy who is also telling us one story after another apart from the ones we read in books or hear from the radio.

At what age did you learn the story?

I learnt the story at about the age of 10years.

I am so happy about this contest by @ngoenyi. This made me think so deep over the childhood stories to actually pick the most suitable.
