Yesterday was such a beautiful day because of the wonderful cultural day celebration, which the model school celebrated on 14/11/2024. The cultural day celebration began at 10 am and ended at 3:00 pm. The celebration began with the special welcome of the guests at the celebration, with the CO (commanding officer), IIc (second in command), and all other members of the high table, as well as the parents of the pupils.

After that was done, this opening prayer was led by the river, end, and the activities continued with the National and school anthem. The national anthem was sung before the school anthem; then the welcome song was sung by some group of pupils to make everyone know that they are highly regarded on the occasion.

The next activity that took place was the fashion parade in which some people from the same class dressed as fast as they could and came to the stage; after they were done dressing, they were scored based on how fast they finished dressing and how good the dress looked on them. After this, the cultural display took place properly.

The Yoruba tribe started the cultural day celebration by saying the main history of the tribe and letting us know that the agbada is the traditional ware for the male. They ended with a good dance. The next to participate was the Igbo tribe; I am actually from this tribe and am glad I could proudly call myself an Igbo boy. They danced and told us about the food and dressing.

The cultural display started with the Ibibio tribe; this is one of the most popular tribes in Nigeria apart from the three major ethnic groups. This culture danced in a kind of way that I haven't witnessed in my life. They also added their cultural attire and food. I enjoyed the performance a lot.

After that, the Ibibio tribe showed the things and cultural dances of the tribe. The act was accompanied by the performance of the Hausa tribe; they explained how the Hausa tribe was the most populated in Nigeria and has about 29% of Nigeria's population, which makes them stand out among all other ethnic groups. They also let us know that they rule in a monarchy system, where the emir rules the people. After doing that, they danced their cultural dance and made us understand that their dance also talked about their way of life.

The next tribe to showcase its culture act was the Edo state. The Edo state tribe is also one of the popular tribes due to their lifestyle, cultural artifacts, worship of the gods, and obedience to the Oba. The Oba is the ruler of the Edo tribe. The dancers were good and made the whole crowd shout with joy.

The next people to participate was the South African tribe. The South African tribe educated us that they are an African nation which is located in the southwestern political zone of Africa with both white and black people; they also let us know that they are very brave and ready for whatever is going to happen next. After that brief talk, they danced in a wonderful way that I hadn't seen in my life; their way of dancing was so unique that I clapped for them after they were done dancing.

The next people who performed were the Gbagi tribe of Nigeria. They are good dancers and started their dance by entertaining the CO and other VPs before performing in a way that everyone knew that they deserved an award. I suggest that the award should be the respectful tribe of the day.

Kanuri warriors and the married couples.

After that Gbagi tribe where done with their performance the Kanuri tribe started by telling us that they are the most powerful ethnic group in terms of war they also showed us the Kanuri warriors who were said to be the best fighters among all other tribes They let us know that the married couples from the Kanuri tribe always live happy together meaning that they have a good marriage system. my bother was among this tribe in the cultural day celebration.

The Idoma tribe began to perform their dance and educated us on how their women are good in the preparation of delicious dishes, which can make you never stop eating 😋, I must say that they have good dance steps.

Last but not least is the TIV tribe, which is located in Benue state, Nigeria. They educated us on the way of life and how their slogan (full basket of the nation) affected their agricultural success. They are the only tribe in Nigeria that produces almost all the important food that man needs for survival. They mainly produce fruits and tuber crops as well as maize and rice. They were the best tribe in terms of dancing and tribe importance.

The cultural day celebration was a success all thanks to God. I had a lot of fun and took some pictures with my friends; I was enjoying the day, and getting to see different cultural groups perform was good.
