Pounding of pepper

Pounding of pepper either dry or fresh happens to be my number one worst childhood chores.
During those days, we normally makes use of mortar because this modern using of engine to ground things has not come out.

Why it is my worst childhood chores

  • Many atimes while pounding the fresh pepper, it used to fling into my eyes. It used to be so painful and hort.

  • The dry ones are always hard to pound.

  • The fresh pepper requires washing before pounding. So after washing it, I feel hort on my pams and fingers.

Who normally sends me to pound pepper ?

Answer: My mother

FETCHING OF WATER FROM THE STREEM

During those days of my childhood, their is no bore hole tap. So we do go to the streem to fetch both drinking and bathing water. You can imagine that, is so stressful.

WHY IT IS MY WORST CHILDHOOD CHORES

  • During harmtan season, we all know that it used to be very cold. But between 5:30 am, my mother will wake me up to go and fetch water.
Under that cold, I will start going to the streem with other of my siblings.

  • Sometimes when you come back from school and was very tiered. You will be forced to go to the streem because the one I fetched in the morning has finished.

  • There are fearful raveens before you reach to the streem with

  • Before I trake from the river to our house, I feel much pains on my neck.

  • The roads to our streem is very bad and dangerous. etc.

Who normally sends me?

Answer: My Mother

WASHING OF PORT'S USED TO COOK FUFU

Why washing of port's used to prepare fufu happens to be my worst childhood chores.

  • After preparing fufu, the left over particles on the ports are always stick and strong. So while asked to wash it, I felt bad.

  • It takes time to wash the port. Sometimes, I wash it up to 4 times before the port will be clean.

  • So while washing the port up to 4 times with water it makes me to feel more bad because the fetching of water is on my shoulders.

Who normally sends me?

ANSWER: My Elder Sister

Those things that I mentioned earlier are no longer my worst chores. Reason

  • Now their is bore hole water every where, so I no longer go to the streem.

  • I can groundmy fresh peppers easily now with my grounder.

  • No more washing of fufu port's because I can comfortably buy it from the market now.

WILL YOU ENCOURAGE YOUR KIDS TO HATE THOSE CHORES ?

Answer: Not at all

I will encourage my kids to do whatever thing I ask them to do. Although some of the chores we did then has been outdated more expecially in the ubarn areas.

But people in some rural areas still do those chores, so I will not encourage any child around me to hate those chores because it is part of parental treaning.

Thank you so much @chichieze I just dropped my link, you really saw "ndi muo" 😂😄😃😄😄 because washing of dried fufu port is not a joke, some of the fufu will be entering into your nails very painful and hard to come out. All the same our parents were training us to become better women and mothers. Thank you.

Yes it was really indeed a training from our parents. I really appreciate you @ijebest for reading my post
