Edited with splendid poster maker
Greetings @simonnwigwe, beloved kids and wonderful parents. While searching for contest, I came across this contest Publis 8 hours ago as of the time am making this post. I haven't seen such topic on contest before and delighted to be part of it for the first time. Yeah! On Steemit platform, we have Admins and Moderators, as for the topic of the contest, we are expected to describe what we understand by Moderators, their works and criteria to become a Moderator. Alright, here is my own understanding.
What I understand by Moderator on Steemit platform.
Moderator is different from Admin. If it is in politics a Moderator is like a deputy manager or detector of a community. Which means, he/she can take care of the community when the Admin is not around. So, a Moderate works with the Admin for the smooth run of the community. Moderators are not being paid, rather they does a self sacrificing work. Though they will be appreciated at the end of the week.
A Moderator is always busy reading, checking on the articles on the community he or she is moderating. It takes time and resources too. Is not all about having a Moderator title, it goes with a lot of responsibilities for example, if a community is chosen for engagement challenge, they Moderators of that community will be extremely busy throughout the season. Sometimes, they slept late at night and wake up early to continue their duty remember, they must check on each post according to the instructions. So, if 1000 post is being made in their community during that season, they must verify all. Moderators are the most busiest poeple on Steemit platform.
Things a Moderator supposed to check in each post.
Their are 5 most important thing a Moderator needs to check in each post and they are as follows 👇.
If the post is exclusively made on Steemit (steemexclusive).
Club statues of the author
Number of words
Voting C's
Plagiarism
Giving counsel and corrections wherever is needed
Etc.
A criteria a user must obtain before he/she becomes a Moderator.
The user must be actively posting on Steemit for the past 6 months. And he/she has not powered down for the past 3 months. And he/she must not have any trace of abusing the Steemit ecosystem for example, he/she has not been cought practicing plagiarism, using bidbot, cheating in all types. They user must have done his/her achievement 1-4 at least to know the content etiquette of Steemit.
Though the user will not know everything about Steemit because we learn everyday. But he/she must know how to make quality post with markdowns. Yeah, ones the user knows this basic things, he/she can be appointment as a Moderator.
If you are not yet a Moderator, which community will you like to work as a Moderator, give reasons for your answer.
For now am not a Moderator. But if I am to work as a Moderator, I don't have any community in mind for now. I will only apply as a Moderator to any Community that is in need of Moderators.
Reason
Steemit platform is the same and Moderators does the same work on each community they are moderating. So, any community that has open application for Moderators, and a willing to carry the cross of moderation work, I will apply to work with them. It's not all about the name, is about the work
Though Moderators are not being paid, they enjoy their work. At least, the title got them exposed to Steemit team. So, if willingly am chosen to work as a Moderator in any of Nigerians community, I will definitely work with them.
Am inviting @mesola, @ogechukwu-martha, @yourloveguru to join this contest.
