Steps On How I Drew Duck

I first started with the peak and a bit of the head.

Then I proceeded with the full head and the breast part with the feather one side

I further drew up the tail and added some shades with the legs also.

Lastly I added the eyes, made some more shards to the drawing and added color

DESCRIBE A DUCK

Ducks are known to be a group of species of water birds which are relatively small in size with shorter necks than their close cousins of geese and swans. Ducks have been domesticated to be featured for their feathers, meat and eggs.

Ducks are seen as omnivorous animal that will eats grass, aquatic plants, fish, crustaceans, insects, seeds, fruit, and other foods too. They are an outgoing and social animals who most times feel at ease and free when together with larger group of other ducks around themselves.

Ducks are birds which are also classified as ‘waterfowl’ that's because they are randomly found in places where there is water, for instance ponds, rivers, streams, seashores, etc.

WHERE DO THEY LIVE?

Ducks are popularly known to be great swimmers and so they live near water. Duck also live in lakes and ponds literally all over the world! Some of these ducks tend to live in marshes, which are swampy areas of low land. Some of them live also in cold places or move, south during the winter months. Anything related to water is just their base.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DUCK AND CHICKEN?

There is a clear difference between duck and chicken, see below!...

Ducks are water birds that has flat paddle-like feetChickens are land dwelling scratching bird poultry.
Ducks are naturally created for water, they can float, swim and dive without the fear of getting drownChickens on the other hand cannot really swim, they can float but not for long, that's until their feathers become wet and will sink like a rock.
Ducks have flat and webbed feet which enables them to swim around and can as well fly to most distanceWhile chicken are scratching birds for walking around, they can fly to only a short distance
A duck grows Upto about 20-24 inches in length and about 1.6-3.5 lbsWhile the chicken is about 2ft tall and then 5 lbs
Lifespan of a duck is about 8-10 years plusThat of chicken is just between 7-8 years

WHAT DOES IT EAT, TELL US ABOUT THE LIFESTYLE OF A DUCK.

Duck get to feed on cracked corn, oats, frozen peas, chopped lettuce, or sliced grapes, rice. These foods are similar to natural foods which duck will forage for on their own. They Leave left over food lying around therefore Leftover food that are in the water can rot and cause deadly algae blooms which can affect local wildlife.

ARE THEY IMPORTANT TO MAN, WHAT SIGNIFICANT ROLE DO THEY PLAY IN HUMANS LIFE? TELL US THE IMPORTANCE OF A DUCK DO THEY HAVE ANY NUTRITIONAL VALUE IF WE ARE TO EAT IT?

Duck meat and eggs are of good importance to man because they are source of food, the provide very important nutrients for health and growth. Common eiders are year round residents in few arctic locations but most ducks are only available from spring to fall. Meanwhile Northerners gets to freeze ducks for use during the winter months for more fresher use.

IF THEY ARE DANGEROUS TO MAN TELL US THEIR DANGEROUS PART

Yes, both male and female ducks do bite that is when they feel threatened. Ducks don’t have teeth but can attack anyone with their large bills and it hurts.
Drakes being the male tend to be more aggressive than the females, so there’s a higher risk that the male attack more than the females.

DO YOU ENCOURAGE US TO HAVE IT AT HOME, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

It is quite good to be kept around but not all the time to avoid unnecessary harm when threatened.
