Weekly Drawing Contest|| Week #32 Begins: Draw A Parrot 🐦

_{Greetings fellow abled steemian, trust you are doing great. I will start by giving a thumbs up to the contest holder @eliany who have tirelessly contributed to the growth of this platform with this contest series that comes up weekly. She's a sweet soul indeed, I appreciate this effort for real. Here I will like to quickly drop my participation to this week's drawing Contest that's based on “Parrot”.}

I will be sharing the materials and my step by step procedures to drawing a parrot below;

• plain white paper
• Wax Crayon

I started with drawing the peak and head.

The proceeded with the body and the arm feather.

I now added the tail and added some design giving it a nice look

DESCRIBE A PARROT

_{Parrots are beautifully created medium-sized birds that dwell in forests. Not only are they found in India but also in various warm countries, They can imitate human voice, that's why they are known as "talking birds". Some people tend to keep them in cages and use them for entertainment sake.}

_{They are popularly known for their brilliancy and good at mimicking, that is why a lot of people take them in various places like talent show, to entertain the viewers and earn money from it. Primarily, these birds are found in flocks and can fly more higher than the other birds. A parrots displays or possesses many colours, they have a red beak that is slightly bent, with the help of the beak.}

WHERE DO THEY LIVE?

_{Parrots live in a tropical and subtropical regions and equally continents around the globe which include Africa, Central America, Southeast Asia, South Asia, South America, Oceania and Australia. Around the world, there are already 370 known species of parrot.}

_{Although most of the parrots live in tropical climates. Most parrots nest in the tree, but for parrots that don't live in trees may use rocky outcrops, termite mounds and cacti for their nests.}

WHAT DOES IT EAT, TELL US ABOUT THE LIFESTYLE OF A PARROT

_{Parrots are known to eat or consume fruits, multiple grains, and vegetables, boiled rice, etc. They have favourite fruit which is "guava" , and their favourite vegetable is "chilly". The parrots can easily eat various fruits and nuts just by breaking the hard shells and then eat it up.}

_{Most parrot birds spend lesser period of time allopreening i.e preening the feathers on each others' heads.}

ARE THEY IMPORTANT TO MAN, WHAT SIGNIFICANT ROLE DO THEY PLAY IN HUMANS LIFE? TELL US THE IMPORTANCE OF A PARROT DO THEY HAVE ANY NUTRITIONAL VALUE IF WE ARE TO EAT IT?

_{The parrot gets to play a very important role in its habitat by helping to propagate the forest where it dwell. Basically, it is not all the seeds that are consumed are digested, many of them are passed in the bird's guano over new sites of the forest. Some species of the birds gets to eat nectar and play important in the pollination of many species of plants in the tropical forests.}

_{Parrot Meat is high in saturated fats, calories, and cholesterol. If you get to feed too much, your parrot may become obese, lol.}

IF THEY ARE DANGEROUS TO MAN TELL US THEIR DANGEROUS PART

_{Yes they can be dangerous to man when their Chylamydia psittaci spread through the droppings and the respiratory secretions of infected birds. Then, People most commonly get psittacosis after exposure to pet birds, like parrots and cockatiel.}

DO YOU ENCOURAGE US TO HAVE IT AT HOME, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

_{Yes sure, but in a cage. You might just chose to live it to go around the compound and might just fly away or harm anyone with it's dangerous parts}
