Greetings, everyone.

Welcome to my blog. I want to use this medium to say thank you to @simonnwigwe for organizing such an amazing contest. Every steemian has a story to tell. Joining the steemit community is easy, but making progress on the platform is not a day job.
As a newbie, you will have to encounter so many ups and downs. The Steemit platform is not for those who have the mindset that they start earning from the very day they join the platform. I was once like that, but I later realized that only those who are consistent with the Steemit platform can excel on the platform.
I remember giving up on the Steemit platform and taking a break countless times. At the end of the day, I realized that the Steemit platform is a blessing in disguise, and one just needs to be consistent with the platform. Consistency is key on the Steemit platform.
My elder brother and his friends (@offi66, @preye2, @samsparku22, and @wesley11) always talked about a platform that paid for just writing and posting. I was not allowed to be a part of the conversation because I was way too small and it would be disrespectful if I did, and I would be scolded for even eavesdropping on their conversation. These went on and on because they kept asking each other if there was a contest anywhere that they could participate in. They all wanted to see each other grow on the platform.
It was December 2020, and up until June 2021, there was no day that they didn't talk about this platform. One day, after his friends had left the house, I asked him about the platform, and he told me everything I needed to know. I was interested, but scared to write because I didn't even know how to go about it.
My brother promised to put me through once I joined; I was using a Tecno Y3, which had only 1 GB of RAM. In September 2021, when I finally decided to join the Steemit platform, my brother was there to put me through it, just as he promised. Each time he minimizes to go copy the code sent, the page automatically reloads and the code copied automatically becomes invalid. He finally used his phone to create an account for me.
The Steemit platform has taught me a whole lot of things. It was a blessing as it contains a lot of knowledge. Below are a few things I learned from the Steemit platform:
My Writing Improved: No doubt I have improved in my writing. When I first started writing on the Steemit platform, I found it very difficult to write up to 300 words. I keep using a word counter to know if it's up to 300. Today I realized I write up to 300 words without even knowing I am up to 300 words already. My writing might not be perfect yet, but I am working tirelessly to do better.
My Knowledge About Cryptocurrency Got Broadened: Before I joined the Steemit platform, I had very little knowledge about cryptocurrency. All I knew is that it's just cryptocurrency, and I knew only Bitcoin. On the Steemit platform, I got to know about alt coins and stable coins. Classes by our tutor @fredquantum on the Steemit platform are the bedrock of all the knowledge I have about cryptocurrency.
Consistency Is Key: When I first joined the platform, I thought I would immediately start earning, but I got it all wrong. I gave up on the platform and took a break before I got some words of encouragement from my brother. It is not always easy at the beginning of the journey, and today I am still striving to stay afloat.
The Steemit platform came through for me when I needed it the most, and I had no one to call upon. Last year, I went to Seat for my JAMB examination, but I misplaced my transport fare back home. I was completely stranded in a city where I knew no one and I had nowhere to go. I called my dad several times, but he wasn't picking up.
My dad wasn't picking up I realized this one was on me, so I immediately rushed to my Steemit wallet and sold some STEEM tokens. I went to a nearby POS agent and transferred to her, and she gave me cash. The Steemit platform came through for me; this is one of the best ways the platform delivered for me.
My growth on the platform has been quite slow because I am not as consistent as I ought to be, but I am still grateful for how far I have come. I started with zero Steem power, but today I have over 400 Steem power of my own, thanks to the Steemit team for initiating the club. I have also made progress from a reputation of 25 to a reputation of 61.
In conclusion, my Steemit journey has been a wonderful one so far. I have come across people from different continents of the world and learned a little about how their traditional meals are prepared. The Steemit platform is indeed a blessing.
I will like to invite @preye2, @madilyn02, and @khursheedanwar to come and participate in this contest.
