Capturing Moments Wk 3: Spotting Differences in Mobile Camera Positioning

Good day great Steemians. It is a great opportunity to embark on this photography contest. It is a beautiful thing to have discovered this community today. My name is @deelyt, and I am writing from Nigeria. I would love to appreciate @bossj for these informative and educative posts on photography as I have done well to go through previous posts.

Capturing Moments

The random access to mobile phones has created the opportunity for me not to just connect with immediate people but with the world through taking pictures. Nowadays, with respect to phone cameras and Internet connections, one can see pictures of things, animals, places, people which you have never seen before in reality.

What challenges do you have taking pictures for Steemit use ?

There are quite a number of challenges regarding taking pictures for steemit, which are;

  • Inability to capture moving objects adequately (of which I just learned thanks to @bossj)
  • Incorrect positioning of phone cameras ( I mean I thought it was just taking a post and snapping pictures away),
  • Landscape pictures always make me too small if one wants to capture from head to toe,
  • Picture poses are also part of my challenges on the steemit as I usually run out of what post to strike
  • I am usually unable to correctly take a landscape picture as a selfie because of how wide the phone looks when turned sidewards

Spotting the differences between picture A and B in terms of how the mobile Camera is placed under distance

Picture A has the unique qualities of a portrait photo where the phone is placed vertically by making the picture of an insect, taken to appear taller and bolder. The distance of the mobile camera and the focus of the insect is very close, thereby blurring out the environment and giving out distinctive qualities of the insect.

However, Picture B has the unique qualities of a landscape photo where the phone is placed horizontally (sidewards), capturing not just the insect but the quality of the environment. The distance of the mobile camera to the insect is not as close as that of Picture A.

Spot the Differences between Picture A and B in terms of Camera Positioning

Picture A has the family members seated together, and their gaze is horizontal. This simply means that the photographer was sitting or squatting just around the angle of their eyes or head level.

Whereas picture B has the photographer standing with the mobile phone around the chest region making their gazes tilt a bit upward or horizontally at maybe an angle of 45° or 90°

In the course of this study I learned how to take motion pictures, which was not quite easy, but with lots of trials I was able to get it.

This is a picture of my cousin. His name is Goodnews. He reluctantly had to be my model, but I'm glad he came through
The picture above was taken of him sitting on a chair, making me slightly taller, with my phone turned sideways and my hands around my chest and kept much of a distance to capture his feet as well.

Taking pictures on daily basis is important because it a way of keeping memories, like me I still have a picture of 5 years ago saved in my phone.

All I do is take pictures and save it in Google play store were you have access to it anytime, anywhere.

@morgan...... Saving it on Google play store, That's a great idea! I never thought of it and I recently lost my photos due to phone formatting. I'll look into saving my pictures.

"Wow @deelyt, I'm loving this photography contest enthusiasm! 📸👏 Your passion is contagious! It's great to see you learning and experimenting with new techniques, like taking motion pictures (that one took a lot of courage! 💪). Hi @deelyt! I didn’t receive a notification when you mentioned me, like the picture shows 😕. However, I did get a notification when @xpilar.witness mentioned me in a comment on your post 🤔.

I read your post and really wanted to join, but the contest was already closed 😔. Thank you so much for inviting me! 🙏 I’m not sure what the issue is, but I hope this comment reaches support and they can fix it soon 🤞. Thanks again, and I’ll hopefully join in another contest! 😊
