Good Day great Steemians I @deelyt, am delighted to be a part of this contest as organized by @bossJ23. Thank you sir for always giving me a sense of appreciation of my environment.

Nature is full of wonders and amazement of which plants are part and parcel of. Plants, as part of nature, reveals God's attributes of wisdom, power and beauty etc.
Plants are living things that grow from the soil. There are numerous and different species of plants which cover the land on our planet.

During the course of this study I learned some amazing facts about plants, which are:

  • Plants can communicate, i.e. to talk to each other's roots uniquely by secreting chemicals into the soil.

  • Just like humans, plants recognize their siblings (species) and give preferential treatment, like exhibiting competitiveness among strangers (other species) and make sure that they don't grow too well among them as compared to their species.

Tell us about the Plant you captured and why you choose this particular plant.

The plant that I captured in this week's contest is called a pumpkin leaf. It is usually called in my dialect "Mfang Ndise" and its botanical name is called Cucurbita maxima. I chose to capture the pumpkin leaf because of its unique leaf shape and its dominant ability to take over where the plant is planted. Like creeping and climbing Vine, it has a beautiful greenish color even when cooked, and is also another property that has given it a stand-out effect.

Does this plant add to the beauty of the environment or it has other benefits?

The pumpkin plant is both beautiful and beneficial to human beings. In fact, its benefits cannot be overemphasized.

  • Pumpkin leaves are recommended by doctors to heal anemia. It also goes as far as purifying the blood of toxic substances. It can also aid digestion due to its constituents of minerals, vitamins, amino acids etc. it will make a nutritious and great meal for an ulcer and a diabetic patient.

  • Its fruit and flower stalks can be made into paste and used to heal boils.

  • The fruit can be cooked and eaten with sauce. This fruit is rich in carotenoids and flavonoids which rejuvenate worn out tissues. The uncooked fruit pulp can be used as a face nourishing mask for dry skin.

  • The pumpkin seed can also produce oil, which is used as a nerve tonic for massages and also as oral medicine.

What challenges did you face capturing this Plant?

  • One of the challenges encountered was that I needed to stand on a chair for elevation to get a better view of the plant.

  • Another challenge was that the pumpkin plant is a creeper and should not be touched as it has started fruiting, so finding proper angles for capturing was also a challenge.

Capture 2 pictures of the plant by zooming out and by zooming in your camera. Tell the differences between the two captures

The first picture was taken with the zooming out effect and it shows the plant with a host of other leaves sharing the beauty of its environment and specifying that it is a creeper and a dominating plant.

The second picture was zoomed in and it highlights the distinctive quality of the leaf, showing that it is a maple-shaped type of leaf with roundish attributes and also highlighting three major veins of the leaf and much more appreciative.
I'll invite @atimisaac @eveetim @usheray
