What Are Values?

Values can be seen as a person's ideas and beliefs that guide them in decision making.

What values do you want to instill in your child, or a child if you don't have one?

Children, they say, are gifts from God and blessings. One attribute of a child is their ability to learn; they do what they see others doing, and that is why it is advised to always be careful around children, not to teach them the wrong things.

I am not married, and I don't have a child yet, but I have been opportuned to stay with kids, and I thank God for that experience.

Values I Want to Instill in My Child

There are a number of values I will love to imbibe in my child:

1. Integrity: Integrity is honesty, and that is one attribute I will love to imbibe in my child. To always be honest. That is one value that is slowly dying.

2. Kindness: I will love to imbibe in my child the act of being kind to people. Kindness is one value I will love to teach my child.

3. Selflessness: Another value I will love to teach my child is to be selfless. To put others first and be intentional in doing good to people.

How do you prioritize your child's needs or a child's needs?

Prioritisation is one aspect of life that everyone needs to learn in order to effectively manage life. When I had the opportunity of staying with kids, I was the one taking care of them. I prioritized their needs by always putting them first. I attended to their needs before mine. I made sure they were okay before doing other things that concerned me. This I did every day before moving out.

How do you balance your work and family life?

I am not married, but I believe balancing work and family life boils down to time management. Staying with kids and taking care of them at that time, there were things I had to cut down on in order to effectively utilise my time with them and also pursue my life. I believe, as an individual, you should be able to sit down, plan, and work out your plan on balance.

Share a heartwarming moment with your child.

I have had several beautiful experiences with kids, but the one that stood out is one with a child named "Damaris". Up till today, I sometimes think about her, and I smile. She was very lovely and would always want me to pet and carry her. She doesn't sleep without me sleeping by her side, and if I fall asleep without her, she will join me and make sure she sleeps beside me. I enjoyed every moment with her.
