In order to arrive at your destination, you need to know where you want to go.

I plan to attend the university to study art.

Just to clarify:

Is your plan to attend university?
Is your plan to study art?
Is your plan to become an artist?
Is your plan to become rich as an artist?
Is your plan to become rich?

All of those goals are equally valid and attainable. You can do exactly what you described but after studying art at university, does that mean you will end up working in a sign making shop or selling onions at the market? A cousin of mine graduated from an arts program and was an exceptional artist. He never made a living as an artist. He has spent the last 35 years selling goods at a flea market.

What do you really want to do?

My plan is to attend the university to study fine and applied art, which involves painting, graphic design and more. I believe there are job opportunities for this course I'm about to take. However my purpose of attending the university is not to get rich, there is no such thing.
