Hello friends. A good day to you all. It is indeed a great apportunty to post in this community.

My first post in this community is about computer systems. I am a computer engineer, so would be writing mostly on it for now.

Today, to helps us in our future write-ups on how to care for our laptops, we will identify various laptop parts and components .

This will help for easy identification as we
proceed.

This will serve as part 1 of this series.

Laptop components

We have many parts that makes up a laptop computer.

I want to briefly state the parts and it's function..

  1. LCD - This is where images and soft documents can be seen, it displays images, videos, webpages, documents etc.

  2. KEYBOARD - This is one the instrument used in sending commands to the computer as it being displayed on the LCD. You type and play games using the keyboard.

  3. MOUSE/JOY STICK - This is used to navigate through the computer and equally used in sending commands.

  4. BATTERY - This serve as a power source, it's keeps the laptop up and running even when you don't have direct AC power supply.

  5. RAM - Random Access Memory, without this your laptop computer can't bring up images in the screen, if this is faulty when power on it will blank display with no image.

  6. HARD DRIVE - This is another essential part of the laptop computer, it's helps store all information including all documents, pictures, videos, games. Note that without the hard drive your laptop won't boot up as (OS) i.e the operating system is not accessible.

  7. FRAMING - This helps keep the laptop on good shape and flexibility. It's comes in variety of colors.

  8. SERIAL PORT - There are several port in laptop computer, namely- USB, SD Card Reader, HDMI, VGA, Charging Port, Mic port, AUX Port. Etc.

  9. FAN - This helps keep your laptop computer cold at all times depending on the hours of usage, most times this works automatically when the system over heating, the fan start fanning till it's cool, and then stop. This method only applies to modern or latest generation laptops.

Conclusion

Knowing these parts is very crucial as we continue on this series. It will help is know them when mentioned and what to do with them.
