Thank you so much steemkidss for organising such a wonderful contest. This contest has taken me back to those wonderful years.

During my childhood, there were just a few chores that i hated doing though i still had to do them because doing chores was an order that had to be followed. There was no negotiations.

  1. Going to the forest to collect firewood.

I grew up with my mother but during holidays she would take us to grandma in the village. It was always fun going to the village because we would find many of our cousins there and playing would really be fun.

I enjoyed playing so much but the annoying part always came in whenever grandma told us that we were going to collect firewood the next day, that usually gave me sleepless nights. 😴

Its not that i didnt like the chore but what i had to go through to get that firewood. The fact that we had to go in a forest was scary especially because of the creatures found there. What i was scared of most were the snakes 🐍that we usually came across and also the caterpillars. But we always found a way to overcome them.

So on that very day, we were supposed to leave home early enough around 9:00am so that we are able to have enough time to collect enough firewood.

We used to go with a ball🏀 because we first had to play outside the forest before we started collecting the firewood, then afterwards we would enter the forest and try to find swings which we would sit on and swing and then also play hide and seek. Actually we spent most of the hours playing until when we would see that it was getting a little darker then thats when we would start fidgeting to collect firewood.

We would at times go back with little firewood and since my grandma was also not a joke she would beat us and make us go back again the next day.

2.Cooking using firewood

While still with my grandma, she would give us days in which each one of us who was there would take turn in cooking.

Whenever my turn came, i would g
give an excuse of a stomachache. I really never liked cooking though my grandma always insisted that i should cook.

But also the kitchen was not so favourable to me, the kitchen was always full of smoke💨 so i would always come out my eyes red and full of tears.

But the amazing part is, Whenever it was my grandma's turn, she would sit in that kitchen for hours without going out until the food was ready.

When i grew up i realised that cooking in that smoky kitchen required perseverance inorder for you to come out with a tastey meal just like many thing in this earthly life. So am grateful for that hard lesson.

3.Washing clothes

Washing clothes was also another problem to me actually up to now. I have never enjoyed washing clothes because of the wounds they leave me with on my figures.

When i was young, i always washed clothes because i was told to do especially by my mom. Because when i was at my mom's place, there was usually no one else to help me since i was the big girl who had to take care of the rest.

But at my grandma's place, Whenever i was there, my nieces were also there, so whenever grandma would tell me to wash, then i would request my nieces to help me. The good thing is that we would look out for each other.

The most surprising part is that my little ones love washing. Whenever i tell them, you are going to wash, they are always so excited to do the chore.

Though i didnt like doing those chores , but my mom and grandma never gave up on me, they always insisted that i should do them and knowing how to do them has helped me as a person in my family. So i advise children howeever much you dont like to do a chore, if you are told by a parent to do it, please do it. Its always for your own good.

Thank you so much @steemkidss for this contest.
