It is a privilege to be part of this week's contest I really love the topic which has been presented to us and I will do my best in making it a success.
We are who we are today because of the contributions of those around us. personally speaking, the key persons who I would say contributed (and still contributing) to making me who i am today are my parents.
Just like I said before without my parents I wouldn't be where I am today. They are have been a source of direction and guidance to me.

When I was born they were the first person's to give me instructions. My mom for example, would never allow me to do what she knows will be harmful to me and no matter what I did (wrong) she would always call me back to herself.
Of course I love my parents and if there was any word stronger than love at this moment, I would have used this would be the best time to use it.
My parents have always been by my side even when others had forgotten about me. Sometimes they will sit me down and advise me on the issues of life.
Of course because of how much love I have for them I always celebrate them whenever I have the opportunity to do so.
I remember when my dad was still alive. Me and the rest of my siblings decided to host a get together party in honour of him. He was really happy and he prayed for everyone of us.
I always as much as possible show love to my parents whenever the opportunity presents itself. Aside their birthdays, whenever I go out I always make sure I get something for my mom as a sign of love.
Living under my parents has taught me a lot and has instilled a lot of values in me. These values have kept me going all through my years of life.
Here are some of the life lessons I learnt from my parents.
My mom | My dad |
---|---|
Honesty | Humility |
Cleaniness | Orderliness |
Self esteem | Boldness |
Hard work | Diligence |
These are just some of the few things I've learnt from my parents. There are so much more than this.
I remember when I was still in secondary school, my mom would always encourage me to study my books even when wanted to go out and play. She would stop me from going out to play.
Sometimes I felt as if she was been too harsh on me not until I started acing my exams and I became the top of my class.
Our parents brought us as a wonderful gift to this world so no matter what happens we should always show love to them. No matter how much wrong you feel they have done to you never hold that against them.

Thanks for your encouragement. As for my dad he's late so I do not want to display any of his picture for now.
