In this piece of work, I'm going to share with you guys easy craft idea. Apart from making your hair with yarn popularly known as wool, you can also use wool in arts and crafts to achieve beautiful crafts like home decor, wall hanger, cotton hanger, beautiful flowers, dragon fly, butterfly, just to mention but a few.
Today, I'm going to write about simple steps I followed to achieve this beautiful dragonfly with wool and few items I have at home.
ITEMS USED
- Colorful wools
- Beads
- Needle
- Comb
Before you start any craft flower or any thing that catches your attention, decide the colors of wool you will use, that when blended, it will come out beautiful. For this dragonfly, I chose green, lemon and red wool. Then for the beads, I chose cream, white and gold colors and also two different sizes of beads.
STEP 1
I measured 9cm of the comb and wrap around the green wool six times and tie to secure it. Then I measured also 6cm of the comb and wrap around the lemon color six times and tie to secure it.
STEP TWO
I pass the red wool at the middle of the comb and tie the green and lemon colors together. After that, I continued wrapping the red color around the middle of the colors fifteen times, then tie to secure.
STEP THREE
I pull the wool gently out of the comb and use needle and lemon wool to secure the lemon ends of the wool and tie to make a pointed end. After that, I added the small white beads, one at a time, I added beads and tie to secure each one till I got to the length of the tail I wanted. I added five beads in all at the tail.
STEP FOUR
To get the head and the eyes of the dragonfly, I moved upwards, I passed needle and lemon wool under the green wool which serves as the wings. Then I attached and secured the big bead, after that I attached the small gold color beads on top of the big bead and also secure them with needle and lemon wool. This is the final look.
