WEEK #12, DRAWING CONTEST OF A LIZARD, BY @ISHAYACHRIS

Greetings to all the kids lovers and the beautiful and handsome kids in the house. I believe we are having a great day. Today, I welcome you once again to my blog where I will be sharing with you some characteristics, qualities and a diagram of lizard. Before then, I want to congratulate all those who participated in #week11 contest. It was really amazing and entertaining. All salute goes to this wonderful community @steemkids for their amazing effort in building this platform. I salute you all once again. Now, I will like you to double-cross your legs and read me below.

Describe a Lizard

Lizard are from the family of reptiles. They grow up to 5 to 6 inches in length. And the weight of adult lizard ranges less than 0.5 gram. Some of the physical features of lizard are: they have Four limbs, external ears, movable eyelids, short neck, and a long tail, which they can shed in order to escape from predators. they eat insects. Lizards also varies in skin complexion, some are blue with red head in color, while some are light black in complexion. Lizard are distinguished from snakes by their scaly skin, possession of legs, moveable eyelids, and also external ear openings. Lizard are also insect eating animals. Initially, they live in forest, but they have adapt to stay where their habitat have been cleared. Lizards are always active during the day, and silent at night. They can also resist temperatures up to 100 degrees farenheight, though, they often hide under shed to cool off. Gama lizard sometimes eat the eggs of other lizerd, but they prefer to eat insect. Female lizard often fight and chase each other, while the younger one's will be watching.

What qualities does a Lizard have?

Just like any other living thing have its own unique qualities, lizard have its own. One of the quality of lizard is it ability to sense something. Lizard have a good hearing, acute vision and olfactory senses which they utilize in various ways. Lizard also have a sense of smelling. One of the quality of lizard is, they are courageous and fearless to their prey (insect). But are seriously cowards before their predators. They are also good at escaping from their predators.

Have you seen one before? If yes, where?

Lizard is one of the animal I see very often around the fence of our house and even in the bush or forest areas. As a matter of fact, I have seen many lizards today. I was able to snap some from a distance, and below are some of the pictures as a proof, though its not too clear because of the distance.

Are they important to man?

Luzards have some basic importance to man. Below are some its importance.

• they are used as a source of food is some part of the world.
• their skin are used as traditional medicine for curing cough in some part of the world like Nigeria.
• they are very vital in reducing some pest that are harmful to man, such as ant, mosquitoes, insect etc.

To make it more beautiful, I coloured it. You can see it below. That was how it was achieved.

As you can see from the above image, the lizard does not harm human, so I believe you can play with my lizard. I trained it to be friendly. I hope you will love my lizard, and I hope to see your own too.
