My favourite kids story by @jovita30

Growing up was fun to me, i learnt a lot of morals from stories told me by my parent and grown up's around.

One of this stories is the one our neighbor told us.

On that faithful day, after we had finished eating and taking our birth, the children of the neighborhood comes out for game and dancing competitions.

On that day mrs Uche decided to tell us a story instead of us dancing and making noise.

She start with story story and we responded story.

She continued, there was a woman named, Jane she lived with her two Daughter and a step daughter. Mrs Jane hates her step daughter for no reason.

Peace the step daughter was a very good girl, she respected everyone including her step mother, the step mother maltreats her and makes her do all the house work, while Joy and Ruth her dauthers does nothing.

One day, she asked Peace to go fetch water from the streem, on her way back, Peace accidentally broke the water pot.
Peace cried for a long time, and could not go home, because she fears her step mother would almost kill her.

While she was still crying and old woman was passing by with a heavy load on her head.
Peace quickly rushed to help her even with the tears in her eyes, when they got to the womans house, the old woman was touched by the kindness Peace showed her.

The old woman asked Peace why she was crying and alone near the stream.
Peace told her how she has broken her Step mothers Water Pot and her fear on what her step mother would do to her.

The old woman told her not to worry, that she would help her.
The old woman brought out 3 different kind of pot. Clay, gold and silver pot and asked Peace to pick one, she picked the clay pot because that was the exact pot she broke(she was sincere and not greedy)

The old woman told her when she get home, she should put her hand inside the pot, she would see an Egg, she should break the egg inside the house.

When Peace got home, she did exactly what she was told, and immediately she broke the egg, she saw a lot of good things, like, cloths, bags, toys, nice shoes and lots more.

She went to her step mother to show her all she got from the old woman.
The step mother got jealouse and sent her own dauther out too.

She sent the two dauther Ruth and Joy. When Ruth and Joy got to the stream, they Consciously broke their water pot and and began to pretend as if they where crying waiting for the old woman.

When the old woman was passing by again, she asked them why they where crying, and they lied that they broke their mother's gold water pot instead of clay pot(they lied and was greedy).

The old woman asked them to follow her to her house, on like Peace she helped the old woman carry her load, Ruth and Joy did not ( they were not kind).

The old woman brough out a gold, clay and silver pots. They both picked the gold pots.
The old woman gave them the same instructions she gave peace.

When they got home, their mother locked the whole house, and chased Peace outside, so she would not partake in the gifts.

When they both broke their Eggs, instead of good gifts, they got bad and ugly things. There flogged by an invisible cane.
They all ran out of the house. After that experience, they all asked for Peace forgivness and they treated her like family.

Peace shared her gifts with them, and they all live hapily Ever After.

• Be kind always to Everybody
• Don't be greedy
• Do not lie
• Respect your Elders
