**SEC17 WK:#4: the effects of economic hardships on families **

Greetings my esteem steemian in steemkidss and parents. Without having doubts, I believe you're all doing good and your day was full of amazing fun. The recent economy of our dear country Nigeria is worth talking about and I'm here to present to y'all how deep the economy of my country has wound the families and it's residency.

If we compare the past 10 years with now, we'll notice a great change in terms of economy. The things we used to buy with just 2 Naira have now risen to 10 Naira. Let's compare the price of edible for consumption from the past 10 years and now.

From the above table, the price of edible from 10 years ago have now multiple X10 comparing to now. How does this economy affect the residency of my country? Before attending to this question, let's first discover the amount of money people earn daily from offline alternatives job.

In Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. People engage in different types of hard job like labour which pays on a daily basis, others offer themselves as sale boy/girl and gpt compensation at the end of the week or monthly. The reason is to provide for the family at the end of the day. The money earn daily, weekly or monthly isn't enough to cover up the daily expenditures.

For instance, a person that offers he or herself as a labour received at least 4500 Naira daily, depending on the kind of profession, not everyday. A person who offer he or herself as sales boy received compensation of 15K to 40K per month.

These allowance of calculate, the daily expenses will definitely consume the money within a period of two weeks, how? If a nuclear family of three brought back 4500 after two or three days, the family expenditures will definitely consume the money within the same day. What happen the next day if there's no labour? The effects of economic hardships on families occur.

Due to inflation rate, families have suspended others necessities and concentrate solely on food. No personal saving for emergency or future used.

It is complicated or impossible for a families to eat a three square meals, people who eat two squares meals are rich because the poor eat once in a single day. Don't be shock most families don't even eat for a day, no hope of food.

Now imagine how such families look like, I mean.... In terms of body structure. Answer with your keyboard.

Paying children school fees is now a stressful burden to the family leading to difficulty, as the results the intention of sending a child to school have lost in the heart of parents.

Although government had provide the opportunity for the young youth to attend education for free of charge but the inflation of school materials such as exercise books, school bag and others valuable school needs isn't something to joke with therefore becoming a big burden for the parents to provide.

Leisure time are the free moment where families explore to interesting places to enjoy life within themselves but due to our dear country economy, such is duly noted. Families are mainly focused food, that's where all the money made are throw in.

Let extend to the overall residency in terms of Petrol. Currently the price of petrol is 800 Naira which is 2.22 STEEM. The high inflation of petroleum has increased the transportation fee which affects everyone. Even to to fuel a vehicle is war because petrol station is now scanty. As the results, look at the high traffic.

In conclusion, the economy of my country is no longer friendly to anyone. To eat a single day is so complicated and sometimes there's no even a glitch of hope. There's no hope of leaving a better life in this world anymore because the government of now are not capable of restoring peace and harmony to the world.

We should hope and pray for the kingdom of God to fast approach. It is only the kingdom of God which will be rule by his only begotten son Jesus that will restore this world to a better place. While awaiting this kingdom to arrive, let's keep doing good deeds whether our heavenly Father will consider us a bit worthy to enjoy everlasting life.
