SEC14 WEEK 5: Charity Begins at home

●What is your view about charity and do you believe that it should begin at home?

As Humans we are our primary function is to help one another in anything we are doing as inspired by my doctrine. I think giving to charity is one way that we may support one another, particularly those who are in need of financial assistance starting from our immediate environment and beyond, meanwhile this can be a household goods, and other necessities can be of a use to help, although around the world, there are hundreds of charitable home to give and to encourage them that there still possibilities to achieve their dream.

As a matter of fact, charitable effort needs to begin at home, we all need to learn about this amazing deed of kindness and the rewards it bestows upon us. As a Christian, my sole objective is to please God Almighty since he is the only one who created us and we are obligated to carry out his commands even as it is written in our bible that we should reach out to more people with goodness and kindness.

For me I think our development started from home, therefore Its essential to start a charity at home so that it will benefit your family, relatives, friends and everyone now and in the future, while it reaches out to more people.

●What is the motivating factor for charity work and is it good to broadcast what you have done for others

In my belief and faith, it is boldly written in accordance with church bible and doctrine. I am practicing as a christian. Everyone is to conduct charitable work since there are several advantages to it and provided you have someone you are better than, so you have rendered your offers financially, materially, academically and as much as you can. Not everyone who witnesses your acts of kindness will follow suit, but at least ten out of every hundred will undoubtedly do so. But the fact remains that I do good for me to be treated the same.

For me, broadcasting what you gave to some or group of people is unwise in some cases, I think it's a waste of time and resources when someone donates to the underprivileged and then posts it on social media in an attempt to earn recognition or praise, even though my doctrine is against it. Hence in my opinion, broadcasting is only good when it is not done with the goal of becoming famous or to be praised. But this can be done if you have pure intentions for just assisting others in order to praise and exalt the name of God.

●When was the last time you carried out charity work to the members of your home

On this basis, I do it everyday that passes by and doing it as much as I can, is not necessarily to keep waiting when you accumulate all that you can now help, rather caring for the needs of others can also be a part of charitable endeavors not minding how small it could be at the moment, as t is necessary to perform charitable deeds every day, particularly for family members. In my perspective, there are no time constraints and they may do this anytime they need to. For me I have a duty to provide my family with a respectable living at home, hence in my own list my own family comes first in all of my daily charitable endeavors, because charity begins at Home.

●Your advice to others about charity

Giving is more of therapy to some people that solves people's problems, when you are nice to others, you are loved elsewhere. More importantly, remember giving creates room to get more, as givers never lack. Being nice to others doesn't make you less of a person, rather it makes you stronger in every area of your life.

Lastly, I would like to extend an invitation to @etette @basil20, and @nsisong2022 to participate in this contest.

You are right. Giving can be like therapy for some people. It has a way of solving problems and bringing joy to both the giver and the receiver. When you're kind to others, it creates a ripple effect of love and appreciation. And guess what? Giving actually opens up opportunities for more blessings to come your way. It's like a cycle of abundance where givers never run out.

Being nice to others doesn't diminish your worth as a person. In fact, it strengthens you in all aspects of life. It builds character, empathy, and resilience. So let's keep spreading kindness and making a positive impact. Remember, the more you give, the more you receive.
