Tell us about the Plant you captured and why you choose this particular plant.

Today, I captured a photo of a Water Lily plant. Water lily is the national flower of our country. Water Lily grows in water. Water lily is seen in water, especially in rural areas of our country. The water lily plant looks very beautiful in the water. The leaves of the Water Lily plant are equal to water. I think the water lily plant is one of God's wonderful creations. When I was a child, I used to go by boat with my friends to collect the flowers of Water Lily plant. In our country, small boys and girls still collect water lily flowers and sell them in the market.

A few days ago, I got into a traffic jam on the road while coming to an office in the capital, Dhaka, from my native city. I got out of the car and stood on the side of the road as our car was stuck in a jam for hours. Then I saw a Water Lily plant in the water by the side of the road. I remember my childhood when I saw water lily plant. I then took a few pictures of the water lily plant with my mobile phone in my pocket.

Does this plant add to the beauty of the environment or it has other benefits?

The flowers and leaves of the Water Lily plant look amazing in the water. When the flowers bloomed like water, we used to dip the flowers in water to collect it. The more water, the bigger the water lily plant. A water Lily is a plant of different colours. White Water Lily plants are most common in our country. However, red water lily plants are also available. I captured a photo of a white Water Lily plant.

Apart from beauty, the water lily plant is used as food in our country. The water lily plant has a type of fruit that is very tasty underwater. As a child, we used to collect the flowers of the water lily plant as well as collect the fruits by dipping in the water. The fruit of the Water Lily plant is still sold in the fruit shops of our country. Then, there is a long branch with flowers under the water. In our country, the tip of the flower is cooked and eaten as a vegetable. The Water Lily plant is sold as a decoction.

What challenges did you face capturing this Plant?

I mentioned earlier that I got out of the car in a traffic jam on my way to office in Dhaka and took this photo of the Water Lily plant. When I took the picture after I got off the bus, the bus was calling me to leave. I quickly took a few pictures and got into the car. I was on the road far away from the water, so I had trouble getting a clear photo. I will go to the office so I cannot take pictures near the water. Then I zoomed my mobile and took two pictures.

The flower of the Water Lily plant is not clearly seen in the zoomed-out image, but the leaves of the water lily plant look very beautiful. Many water lily plants are captured in zoomed-out images.

Zoomed image:
The flower of the Water Lily plant looks very beautiful in the zoomed image. The white water lily plant is recognizable in the picture. Due to the zoom, I was able to take a clear picture of the Water Lily plant from far away.
