Have you ever been embarrassed? tell us the scenario and how you felt.

During the school holy day, I was playing Cricket with my companions in our backyard. Due to the monsoons season the field was water-logged so we decided to play there. Right next to our backyard was our neighbor's house. During the game, one of my friends hit the ball, and it accidentally smashed through our neighbor's window, shattering the glass.

I was fielding at the time, and as I went to retrieve the ball, I noticed the broken window. Our neighbor heard the noise and came out, startled. My father who was at home rushed to the scene along with everyone else in our house. When he saw the ball in my hand he scolded me severely. Whenever my father scolds me I tend to keep my eyes down and listen quietly feeling regretful.

What made the situation more disturbing was that our neighbors witnessed my father scolding me. He took the ball from my hand and warned that if anything like this happens again, he'd discipline me. Although it was my friend who hit the ball, I was caught retrieving it, and as a result, my father had to compensate our neighbor for the broken window. It made me feel really sad.

Do you think you deserve the embarrassment or it should have been someone else?

Although the ball was hit by my friend, resulting in the glass breaking, I took responsibility and covered for them so we could continue playing cricket in our backyard. Thus, I believe all of us who were playing cricket were at fault. While I deserved the embarrassment of being scolded by my father in front of everyone, my friends also needed to face the situation as we were all playing together.

During that moment, I wished to escape the presence of others, but I felt regretful because my father had to bear the cost of the broken glass, which I never intended. However, when we're responsible for our actions, we should willingly step forward to resolve the matter instead of trying to escape from it.

What have you done to avoid such a scenario from reoccurring?

I no longer engage in cricket activities in our backyard to avoid this situation from happening again. Honestly, during my childhood, my father scolded me multiple times, but his discipline ultimately protected me from colorful dangers in the future.

My father strictly prohibited me from playings cricket in the back yard as it could have caused harm to our neighbor's. I followed my fathers instructions Without questions and have Always been careful not to put him in a positions where he has to make up for any loses caused by me.

Conclusion

Awkward moments will often happen in our lives, but rather of considering them as negative occurrences, we can take them as opportunities for growth. So, I believe it's due to these moments happening to us that we cultivate a sense of mindfulness and maturity.
