Im happy to write again in this great community but before i start oll love to wish this wonderful community a happy belated birthday although it's in arrears. If i didnt write on this event and participate in the anniversary contest, ill be so not happy.
Once again a happy birthday to steemkids community and my beloved family... wishing the community a prosperous and numerous users.
With pleasure in my heart i want to join the contest. I call it anniversary contest and one of its kind.
My journey with steemkids and steemit as a whole has been a very exciting one and indeed i can say for sought that im happy to belong to this platform which is very nice.
ANNIVERSARY CONTEST
Im going to tell the community how i started my steemit journey and where ive been now.
PRELOGUE
Before going into the contest proper, ill love to say what really happened.
Steemit was initially introduced to me in a bus, not like something youll say a formal introduction. It was introduced inform of a joke or should i call it play mode. After the introduction i wasn't really captivated cause it was from someone i didnt know. I remembered his name was Mr Emmanuel and we exchanged contacts before highlighting the bus.
This was what he told me, "Mr man do you know that the facebook your on daily, viewing and liking peoples post and lots more you can do it and get paid on steemit".
The funny thing is that when i went home, i forgot to call that man again... it was after some months that i remembered.
A. FIRST IMPRESSION OF STEEMKIDS
Steemkids on the other hand was introduced to me by my own steemit mother @ngoenyi. Okay heres what happened, i went to get something from a store some meters away from my house when i saw a signpost with steemit on it. Immediately i remembered that something like that occured to me some months ago. With some level of anxiety i had, i decided to go take a look. I then figured out that people were inside so I passed. Before i had gone far, i noticed that mummy @ngoenyi had come outside to observe me and asked me if i was looking for the steemit office.. I wanted to say no but she insisted that i should come in no matter how lost i was. I explaimed to her that someone introduced steemit to me but not in full. She sat me down and explained to me in details what I needed to do and later invited me to join her community, the steemkids community.
Well for me, the community was belittled cause i saw it as where kids where and i wasnt a kid or a child. That feeling if being big was there. Wasnt necessary for me join and i didnt want to join because it was a kids community. All hope not lost i decided to join the gain was massive. I had a lot to spare than to loose.
B. FAVOURITE TEAM MEMBER
Well for me my favourite team member as regards to when i joined was @madilyn02. She helped me answer some questions i couldnt ask the founder. She was there to guide me when i was lost. I want to say a big thank you to her. More wins.
I choosed her to be my favourite cause its not easy answering a noobie's question. Only a strong willed person will be able to carry someone lost along. Even when i went for workshops on tuesdays and thursdays organized by the founder of this great community, i will be there with questions and i cant ask them because I was so scared and it was just me joining but with madilyn i can ask and feel free.
C. FAVOURITE PROJECT
My favourite project is the STEEMKIDSEDU project which started and saw the should i say employment of teachers. Lol engagement of some steemians who took it upon theirselves to deliver selfless educational lessons to the kids of the community. I also want to thank them all. I might not know all your names but im happy for yall.
To the organizer of the project, youll keep in shining.
D. DID I LEARN ANYTHING USEFUL?
The answer is YES, I learnt alot and it has kept me going. Various activities has kept me going, daily dynamics have kept us in check in not running out of daily posts. So i learnt alot including contests that help further research.
Crypto academy has aslo helped me in understanding crypto lessons even in a way a child would. All this have helped me profusely.
E. WHY I LOVE STEEKIDS
For me I wouldnt be bragging or boasting, seeing a Nigerian lead a very potential community and the commitment to making it grow to be the best is what attracted me to the community. Many people will say its because they love kids. Well loving children is always going to be a reason but in my case, its the commitment and activeness in the community that makes me fall in love with it.
F. CHANGES I'D LOVE TO SEE
This is a great opportunity for me to share my suggestions and i hope it will be humbly accepted.
The community has been a great influence in the lives of young kids and young adults in its own best way.
If i may appeal, ill want
The community to conduct inter-national competitions. It could be in form of contests, debates and so on. Why im saying this is because Im a Nigerian and ill love Nigeria to contest with France, Cameroon, South Africa and other countries in educational and vocational competitions. In this case we will get to know more about our other country men.
This came as a result of lack of engagement in the steemkids telegram group. We need kids from all the continents to be actively engaged in the community irrespective of which country you come from.In a bid to achieve the first point, ill love the MODs in the community who are not Nigerian to try as much as possible to engage the kids over there and try to bring them to the community.
Lastly, In memory of the late MOD ill love there to be a memorial music event or contest to mark her courage in the community. Her death will never be forgotten in the history of this community.
Thanks a lot for celebrating this great anniversary with us and for being part of our success. We appreciate all you have done for this noble community

Thank you so much for your kind words and suggestions for the community. It is indeed a great idea to engage the kids from around the world in competitions.
Thank you for being humble to learn from others, if you weren't humble and asked your questions, you wouldn't have gotten the answers 🤗.

This post has really touched my bone marrow. The suggestion of steemkids participating in international competition with our communities is worthwhile as this would increase engagement. Thanks for sharing this post with us. Your stay in this community is never a waste. Me personally, I've enjoyed my 8 months in this community. Happy anniversary to steemkids
