Today I am going to participate in the weekly drawing contest among you and the main topic of today's contest is drawing a picture of a duck. Like every week this weekly contest is organized by @eliany mam for that I thank her a lot. However, the main topic of today's contest is a picture of a duck.

Drawing Instruments

• Pencil.
• Eraser.
• Black ink colour pencil.
• Peach ink colour pencil.
• Orange ink colour pencil.

Let's start the drawing process

Step 1,

First, draw a duck's face, head, eyes, neck and parts of the head with a pencil on A4 size art paper.

Step 2,

Draw the complete body of the duck with its wings and legs.

Step 3,

Again draw the line with black ink pencil over the pencil line of the complete image of the duck.

Step 4,

Finish the drawing of the smile by painting orange on the duck's lips and feet and peach on the whole body of the duck.

Description of the duck

Duck is the common name for several species of birds in the Anatidae family. They differ in size from the other two members of the Anatidae family, the morrel and the swan. Ducks belong to several subclasses of this class. Physically, ducks are medium to small birds with flat beaks and short throats

Where does the duck live?

Most ducks are aquatic; They can live in both freshwater and saltwater environments. Although they look almost the same and have behavioral similarities, birds such as coots, mergansers, divers, etc. are not ducks. Low, high, wet or wet and dry, ducks will thrive in almost any environment. Rather, they prefer places in the water or sand. A large fruit basket, a wooden basket, an oil drum or any place convenient for the breeder will do. No matter the shelter, the mouth should be well openBecause the duck's nature is to enter the house with its head held high.

Difference between duck and chicken

There are several differences between ducks and chickens. For example,

Ducks:

Physically, ducks are medium to small birds with flat beaks and short throats. The contrast between male and female ducks can be seen. Their calls are also mostly different. Male ducks molt twice a year. Moreover, ducks prefer wet, damp places and like to wade around in water.

Chicken:

Chicken is one of the domesticated birds. Its meat and eggs are one of the sources of protein. They cannot fly more than 10-12 feet. Lays 12-20 eggs at a time and hatches them. The beak of the chicken is slightly curved and thin and they like to live in dry places.

What do ducks eat and the lifestyle of ducks

They can survive by eating small aquatic animals and plants in canals, bilges, ponds, estuaries and rivers. Ducks can produce better by eating grass and food scraps. Ducks should be fed with water mixed with food. Ducks prefer wet food to dry food

How important are ducks to humans?

Duck farming is very profitable and duck meat and eggs are very tasty and are in high demand among people. Moreover, the amount of dividend is much higher than the cost of duck rearing. For those who are engaged in fish farming, duck farming should be done along with fish farming because the combination of duck and fish farming does not require separate feed for fish. And if there are ducks, the fish grows very fast & people can earn more money by farming ducks. Moreover, duck meat and eggs are very beneficial.

Duck meat:

As a source of protein, duck meat plays an important role. Duck meat contains niacin, phosphorus, riboflavin, iron, zinc, vitamin B-6 and thiamin. It also contains small amounts of vitamin B-12 and magnesium. Duck meat, including the skin, is also high in fat and cholesterol.

Benefits of duck eggs:

Vitamin B12 in duck eggs reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer. Duck eggs are also rich in vitamin A, which improves eyesight and maintains blood and skin health. Selenium in it increases immunity. On top of that, duck eggs are rich in riboflavin, which is a powerful antioxidant.

Disadvantages of ducks

Disadvantages of eating duck meat:

Duck meat is high in fat. These fats include saturated fats as well as unsaturated fats. Saturated fat contains cholesterol. So it is better not to eat duck meat for weight control

Do I encourage us to have it at home, what do I think?

I think this domestic fowl can be farmed in homestead considering the benefits of duck meat and eggs and profit in duck farming. However, since ducks prefer muddy, damp places and prefer aquatic food, if our homestead is not near a water body or canal, the cost of duck food will increase which threatens the profitability of duck farming.
