The Last Laugh (Plot)
Eno was a little girl of 5 years who lost her mum, so it was not up to three months after her mum's demise, Eno's dad took in another woman to be her stepmother. She was still in nursery 2 when the dad married another woman.
The stepmother came in and started maltreating her, sending her errands upon errands, some errands that weren't meant for kids were not excluded. Her dad seemed to pay a dead ear to this ill-treatment mated on her first daughter probably because of the love he had for the new woman. Eno was forced to drop out of school and take care of the house chores all by herself, this really retarded her mental growth and overall psychological development.
When the stepmum finally put to birth, became an unpaid nanny, taking care of the whole chores in the house, as well as taking care of the new born. At a very tender age, she would cook for the whole family but was on many occasions denied the same food she prepared.
At age 10, Eno's granny had forced her father to send her back to school and she was sent to public school whilst her step sister went to a private nursery school. She was not really brilliant on the first year which made some teachers complained and advised the dad to make provision for home lessons, but he wouldn't agree to it.
Bit by bit, she began blending and picking up. At age 15, her stepmum had forced her to be hawking minerals and buns on the traffic so as to punish her. But this never weighed her down. The worst happened when Eno's father died and she was left with just her and the stepmother with the little child.
This happened on her last days in primary school after she had written her first external examination hoping to further till university level, this plans were tarted and she had to spend extra six months selling minerals and buns at the traffic and also taking care of the stepmum's kids and taking care of the house chores.
On a faithful Sunday, when she was watching a news, she saw her picture on the television but at first she began to panic thinking she had committed an offence but she. She clearly listened to the news, it was reported that she scored highest in the south south zone and was granted scholarship to study abroad.
On breaking out this news to her stepmother, she swore never to let Eno leave the house for any reason, just as they were discussing, an ambulance entered the compound they went outside to check what was happening, behold it was Eno step sister who just died from a ghastly motor accident. The mother (Eno's Stepmum) couldn't control the tears and she bursted into tears.
Within some days, Eno's visa was ready she was ready to travel abroad but before she left the house, she told the stepmum she had forgiven her and all the ill-treatment she had mated on her, the stepmother couldn't believe her ears after all she did to her. She bursted out crying and kneeling to beg Eno not to forget her when she gets abroad, Eno promised she won't forget her and even asked her to take the only portion of land her mother gave her before she died.
Moral Of The Story

It's a brand-new story to me. I'd never heard of it, but Eno is a very lucky girl to have found her way to live happily ever after.
