In the middle of the small forest there was a clearing with a large blue pine in the center, where Thomas the Bear played every afternoon. After eating, Tomás asked his mother's permission to go play with his bear friends. When they were there, they all started to play tag, they made girths and climbed trees, but what they liked the most was playing hide and seek.

  • I count! Shouted Pablo, the smallest of the brown bears.
They all ran in a hurry to hide. Pablo counted to 20 and raised his voice again.
  • 18, 19 and 20, goooo.
One by one they appeared, discovered by the cunning little bear, but Tomás ran and ran stealthily without Pablo seeing him and making posts in the trees and bushes that he had on the way, he reached the blue pine, being able to win the game.
Day after day the games were repeated as spring passed.

The biggest surprise occurred when they got together to play and discovered that many of the trees in the forest were missing. With curiosity and stealth, the bears were walking the path left by the absent trees. What happened? They wondered until after a long walk they found a building with many trucks and tools around it.

The worried bears came back to tell their parents what had happened, who got scared and challenged them for not telling them earlier.
The bears told their children that men use trees for the most diverse things and that is why they cut down entire forests every day and thus endanger their home. Trying to find a solution, they went to see the park ranger, who was a good man and concerned about nature.

As soon as they arrived, they commented on what had happened and after many explanations, back and forth, the park ranger was able to convince the men who were cutting down the trees of the importance of this forest for the bears and how together they should reforest.
The small trees they planted took years to grow and Tomás' children and the other bears were able to enjoy them by playing their favorite game. Playing hide and seek.
