Hello friends,

This time we have an interesting topic to speak about. So let me share my ideas about the childhood and adulthood of my country and my life. I'm happy the community gives us the chance to express our ideas under this topic.

Who is considered as a child in your country?

Children are considered as diamonds of the world. We all celebtrate world children's day on October 1st. Child is a blessing for the family. In our country Srilanka upto age 18 we consider as children. From birth to age 18 a child should be under the parents. Prents are responsible in feeding, educating and protecting their children untill they reach age 18.

The government has enforced rules and regulations to protect child rights. Child labour is a punishable offence in our country. Education is a must for children below 18. keeping children at home without educating is also a punishable offence as Education upto age 20 is free for all children in our country.

There are child insurances which the government has implemented for children. They also get scholarships to study free in International universities and also for schooling children they get a monthly payment to spend for their school work. From birth to 18 years a child gets the maximum benefits and careerer security from the government.

Who is considered as an adult in your country?

After 18 years a child is considered as an adult until the death. A legal marriage can be done after 18 years. They have the ability to get a stable occupation after 18 years. The children who reach 18 years get the opportunity to enter into the university for higher studies. After 18 years a person becomes to reach the stability in life.

After 18 years the citizens get the voting rights. They have their independance to take decisions. Also they belong under the human rights, employment and labour rights.

Adults who are in low income families can apply for "Samurdi" which is an offering from the government. They get a considerable amount from the government to carry on the living. Adults who engage in jobs are paind in wages or salary method. From all under the labour law of the country their labour rights are protected and also ETF/EPF is deducted and that amount is givven to them once they resign the job along with the company gratitude amount.

Pension age of a job is considered as 55 years. After 55 all government servants get a pension amount which is equivalent for their salary amount that they got when doing the job. Adults are given many opportunities even after retirement. They get free telephone bills, Health facilities etc..

Childhood or Adulthood, which do you prefer?

In my point of view I personally like my childhood. Being an adult is full of responsibilities and we should raise families. I like to be free and I love being a child. We are getting the protection from the family. Our parents look after us and feed us. The time we spend with our parents as children can't be taken again.

I still remember my childhood spent with my family. We are not a rich family but we spent our lives happily together. I love the time I spent with my sister. We both used to go to school together. We went shopping together and still we do it. Unlike adulthood in childgood our parents are with us and they help us in everything.

Parents give us the protection. They lead us to the correct path. But when we become adults we have to do everything alone. Parents aslo help us in our studies when we are children. Parents guide us when we are children. I feel more sure and occupied in my childhood so I prefer my childhood.

Give at least 3 reasons why you prefer childhood or adulthood

The most important thing that I prefer my childhood is that I can spend time with my parents. I still remember how we went on trips with family. We had many fun times when we are small.

I also love the school times. We enjoyed time with all of our friends. We studied together. The school organized trips for us and things to entertain us. I love the way we shared childhood secrets with our friends.

Child is a person who is free of responsibilities and high in good qualities. So always I loved the free life that I had in my childhood.
