The personality of my role model

I have so many great men and icons that I admire both in the ancient world and in this modern world, but among this Giants one stands out and the one that stands out is a great man indeed, He was Mohandas Karanchand Ghandhi. He was born as an ordinary Indian in the later part of the nineteenth century from the Gujarati area of India. He was trained and he became a lawyer, he also resides in South Africa where he led many protects against the racist evil apartheid regime in South Africa.

He later returned to India and became a beacon of hope and symbol of freedom to millions of indians who were under the crushing subjugation of British colonization. Ghandhi is know ln for his selflessness and love for his people especially those who belong to the untouchable class. He engaged in hunger strike and long fasts as protest as an act of repudiation against colonialism which was at that time the Mane of every facet of Indian society.

He was also know for his simplicity which is manifested in the way he dresses , He is always clad in the cheapest clothing material called calico. He drapes this material around to show his love for simplicity and lack of interest in personal riches Ghandhi stands for love for his fellow human, freedom for all indians and the universal brotherhood which is based in equality for all men. He is revered in India , whenever that name is mentioned what comes to the mind if the average India is gratitude and sacrifice for the Indian nation.

Ghandhi is for ever evergreen in the mind of an average India because this courage, selflessness and determination is indeed divine because only divinity can manifest such enduring virtue as Ghandhi did.

Accomplishments

Mahatma, in his life time had so many achievements and that is why he is remembered in the world for his dedication. He introduced and sustained non violence which made them free from British colonialism using Ammisa and satyagrahia, it was a system of civil disobedience to the British government which helped in the freedom of India from British colonialism.

Mahatma also led the salt match to Indian ocean when the British government abolished or stopped the indians from using their salts. He formed and led a team who matched to get their own salt. He also fostered peace in India at the time when the Muslim India and the Hindu indians wee not living in peace. He made indians understand that they are one, and this made the Muslim Indians to relocate to Pakistan.

He encourages simplicity in the life of indians by living a life of austerity and self denial, he clad himself with calico and also became a vegetarian not by choice but to dedicate his simplicity, He is a father of modern India because he sacrificed his life for his country. In 1948, He was assassinated under very controversial circumstances, but he died living a legacy of a devoted Indian.

Conclusion

The title Mahatma Ghandhi was conferred on him because of his examplary life. Mahatma means supreme soul, He stirred to chant the mantra, The mantra of freedom which rose to a high pitch that the British found very uncomfortable and deafening. The world may not have another personality that can rival this great man who is an inspiration. Once again, thank you fellow steemians for reading this post.
